Congrats to him. I'm thrilled for him and his family. He was a great recruiter for the Beavs, so I'm a little concerned about that, and curious if Katie may follow him, but very happy for Brian! Go Beavs and Grizzlies! Katie would have to take a significant pay cut as an assistant coach at Montana.

And even if so probably not enough to offset the status differential between Big Sky and Pac-12.

I'm thinking it may be considered a step down in her career, but she loves Montana, would have liked to had the job, and if she was made the Associate Head coach, number one assistant, it may be considered a step up. Perhaps she will move up in line here. For her career, I think she is better off staying, but what do I know? For sure I hope the Beavs find a good recruiter as next assistant. A few more years down the road and Aleah may have been a nice answer.

A step up and more training and experience for her next position.

Aleah needs to fill out her resume with a few years in the pros and then a grad assistant position and then maybe a real assistant job or head coach in high school.

KBF has been the only assistant coach.

Just thinking out loud more than anything...but I think if any OSU alum is in line for a WBB job it would be Sydney Wiese - assuming that is what she is looking for....
I have not been following her pro career - as pro sports are off my radar - so I don't know how her career is progressing....
It also seems like I have never heard of her having a major knee or ankle injury....That's a lot of basketball to be injury free - - if I'm correct in my thinking about her....
Syd has the demeanour and personality that would carry her a long way on the recruiting trail... And she has the smarts, the skills, and the intensity that would serve her well as a coach. GO BEAVS!!

Because JC has 20 years of coaching experience at the D1 level and Katie has about 5. BH had a similar background to JC...that's why he was an associate head coach.

It will be interesting to see who Rueck chooses as a replacement. Will he hire another associate head coach or will he fill the vacancy with a second assistant coach? I'm guessing the latter. Plus, I believe he should choose a woman in either case.

I'd be curious to see any differences from his offense and defense as compared to Rueck's. As far as KBH, she needs to put in more time as an assistant. I think I read that Brian had about 16 years coaching experience. He started at Montana Tech as a head coach. It is a small NAIA school. Katie will have to start at a small college after she puts in more time as an assistant. She has to pay her dues first.

Brian Holsinger is newly following numerous University of Montana related social media accounts this morning. Got to hand it to you rman.....You were the first to sniff this out!.....We will definitely miss BH especially as you mentioned that he was an excellent recruiter....I was really hoping that Montana would hire Campbell away from UO.....but no they had to go for our guy.....bad for OSU but good for Brian H.....I wish him the best and hope he schedules annual games with the Beavs so we can see him in action!
