Persistent rumor I keep seeing is that UW was set on hiring a woman for the vacancy. That could be one explanation for Campbell not getting the job. He's been a hot assistant coach for a number of years, but still hasn't landed a HC gig. Could it be his personality is a bit hard to deal with? He comes off as pretty full of himself from the brief glimpses I've seen. You are correct. No males had a chance at the UW job from the get go from what I heard too. Same thing happened when they hired Jody Wynn.

No males are getting any power 5 jobs unless they are a successful active coach. Title 9 also effects coaching hires. This has been going on the past several years. It became particularly obvious after Muffet McGraw said she’ll never hire a male assistant. I understand the need for equality at the WBB coaching level but really good male coaches are being passed over by less qualified females. This doesn’t help the game itself.

Ah, a bit like how really qualified female coaches get passed over for ANY MBB jobs. Terrible isn't it?

When Title 9 went into effect female coaches was almost 90% in college women's basketball. It is now 63% from her hoop stats. This doesn't seem to bear out your claim of male discrimination because of Title 9. What Title 9 did was bring in money so that men decided that coaching women's sports was interesting after all.

When you "copy" and "go to" the above Mark Campbell story link:.....you'll need to scroll down below the sub headlines and the ad to find the article! fixed your link. FYI when copy and pasting links you should delete everything after the ? Thanks Glove....You saved me again!.....That is what I wanted the link to look like but I couldn't figure out how to do it!......Johnboy and I are both almost 70 now and we are somewhat technically challenged!

Hearing BH got the job. I suspect it will be out there soon, if not already.

Good for him. For all of Campbell's recruiting acumen, he still can't get a job.

Congrats to him. I'm thrilled for him and his family. He was a great recruiter for the Beavs, so I'm a little concerned about that, and curious if Katie may follow him, but very happy for Brian! Go Beavs and Grizzlies!
