Some think Rueck has a plan regarding the portal. If my recollection is correct we've lost Slocum and Goforth to the transfer portal and picked up Mack. The plan doesn't seem to be working out very well.

Sheesh - Ellie was last year portal and she turned out to be an important piece - lotta kids in the portal right now but not seeing many coaches making decisions yet, to tell you the truth. |

I am not saying Mack is a bad player she is obviously pretty good but I would hope the plan gets as good or better than was lost. We lost more in the portal last year than we gained.

Jeebus, dude, what did I say to set off your little "I'm offended" alarm?? Unless you are just looking to bitch, there ought to be nothing in my post that sets off anyone other than someone just looking to be offended. Everything I mentioned is just a result of the current transfer portal issues, 700+ looking for a new start, or finish, to their careers. How about you put yourself in SR position, or any other coach. Season is over, recruiting done for the next 2 years, you think you know who's coming, and who will be here, and then the rug is pulled out. Sasha is already at Arkansas it appears, think that wasn't already planned, just now news? Of course not, if she wants to go, fine, big loss for us and SR and mostly the team who I'm sure are also disappointed. It's toooo easy, and will ruin collegiate sports and turn it into another version of semi-professional sports, "where can I go next, and have you done for me lately", imo. You may differ...........

My thought is that the coaches are waiting for Mack to decide if she is coming back next year. If she is then they need a backup, and she isn't they need a new starter. I hope that this would be two different kinds of people.

I think it's fairly obvious that the team needs to pick up some transfers no matter what Mack decides to do, and, if she's not coming back, that's just one more we need to get. And there's something I haven't seen mentioned yet on this board - there's over 600 already in the portal, and a whole heap of them would flat LOVE to wind up at Oregon State. We're still a very desirable location. We'll come out missing an All American, sure, but we'll come out whole. |
