Wake me when OSU gets even one truly elite guard player from the transfer portal ready to go for next season. (getting Destiny was a fluke). Well, there are always a few Faustino caliber players floating around. Maybe one of them will bite.

Right now, the Beavs are losing a player a day. The Beavs went from a possible three guard lineup that would be among the best in the country to a team with barely any guards at all.
What may tomorrow bring?

What may tomorrow bring? OSU will be down to 3 scholarship guards next season. Not good. I'm not looking for a great savior from the transfer portal. Lightening never strikes the same place twice (ie. Beavers unlikely to get another "Destiny"). If SC and company do go shopping in the portal, hopefully they won't panic and waste a scholarship on another Faustino quality player...what were they thinking? |

How many titles do we have? 1 final four 5 years ago does not make you elite. Very good, but not elite. UCONN, Stanford, Baylor, South Carolina. Those are Elite programs. |

Faustino wasn't a trasnfer portal pickup, and I'm sure they were thinking they needed a backup for Aleah just in case, but I get what you are saying.
It's hard to believe Scott can take a program that was as down as it could get, and make it a great program without landing a lot of top recruits. Then he begins to land top recruits, and health issues, injuries, and transfers hit the program hard.
This team was on the verge of being special for the next three years, and now it looks like the chances of being an elite team are moved back a couple years.
Now is the time to see if the Beaver coaches can rise to the occassion and land a couple players from the portal that get this team competitive in the top half of the Pac-12 the next couple years. At the very minimum they need another ball handling guard to help Talia, and a wing player who can score and shoot appears to me to be a big need as well. And....even if they land those, they have to hope that Taya or Kennedy step up and provide production as well.
The challenge is on!........and we still don't know how many of the remaining players are returning.

In the past 20 years I've read (not going to check because I'm feeling lazy) that 13 teams have made it to the final four in the past 20 years. But instead you chose 4 teams, one of which has made it to the championship game once and ignore the team that's been there 7 times in those 20 years. You have really weird criteria. |

I wasn't saying or implying that Faustino was a transfer portal pickup...but she was a transfer portal casualty. I mention her only as an example of the level of quality not to pickup from the transfer portal. |

I didn’t say I named all of the elite programs. We are just not one of them yet. And, South Carolina has made 3 final fours in the last 7 years. ND lost their legendary coach and went 10-10 this year. Not sure they will stay in that elite category. Tennessee is not elite anymore either. |

Looking back, it was clear that Jas was on her way out the door. And the lack of emotion from Sasha, in retrospect, should have been a clue. AND, this wasn't a last minute decision by Aleah. Coach knew this was coming. He's got it covered. |
