Faustino wasn't a trasnfer portal pickup, and I'm sure they were thinking they needed a backup for Aleah just in case, but I get what you are saying. It's hard to believe Scott can take a program that was as down as it could get, and make it a great program without landing a lot of top recruits. Then he begins to land top recruits, and health issues, injuries, and transfers hit the program hard. This team was on the verge of being special for the next three years, and now it looks like the chances of being an elite team are moved back a couple years. Now is the time to see if the Beaver coaches can rise to the occassion and land a couple players from the portal that get this team competitive in the top half of the Pac-12 the next couple years. At the very minimum they need another ball handling guard to help Talia, and a wing player who can score and shoot appears to me to be a big need as well. And....even if they land those, they have to hope that Taya or Kennedy step up and provide production as well. The challenge is on!........and we still don't know how many of the remaining players are returning. Oh, pleeeaaaase. You don't think Coach has a plan? Looking back, it was clear that Jas was on her way out the door. And the lack of emotion from Sasha, in retrospect, should have been a clue. AND, this wasn't a last minute decision by Aleah. Coach knew this was coming. He's got it covered. That's some funny comments. Yes, coaches always have plans, just like any good business. There is always plan A, and the backup plans, however you want to label them. One of those plans was that Aleah may return. The coach, who knew this was coming (your words), had hoped Aleah would fit into his plan. He stated as much in an interview. So, yes, coach has a plan, but it's doubtful that 'plan' will fill the immediate need as well as Aleah would have, and the down the road potential of Sasha. Coach also commented that Sasha had the potential to be the most explosive player he has ever coached. Do you really believe his current plan is "Oh, we'll go out and land another 'most explosive player' this summer. It's probably his hope. It may be in his plans, but it's not that easy. If it were, the Beavs would grab the #1 High School player every year. Yes, coach has many plans, but a couple of them got blown up in recent days, and now it's on to the next plan. As I said, the challenge is on! Go Beavs! I'm excited to see who the Beavs bring in.

Boy Covid has sure got everyone paranoid.....does anyone think Coach and his staff haven't talked to Aleah months ago about her future plans? Do you believe they didn't have a pulse on the Sasha situation? It is a loss to lose Aleah and Sasha for sure, but for Covid, Aleah was gone anyway, Coach and his staff will figure this out, everyone take a chill pill, geez.

OSU will be down to 3 scholarship guards next season. Not good. I'm not looking for a great savior from the transfer portal. Lightening never strikes the same place twice (ie. Beavers unlikely to get another "Destiny"). If SC and company do go shopping in the portal, hopefully they won't panic and waste a scholarship on another Faustino quality player...what were they thinking? You lose your grip often? Here's what you do: pour a shot of whiskey, then drink the rest of the bottle. Honestly, you're the one who needs a bottle of whiskey...no, make that 2 bottles and then some.

How about you give the staff more than 24 or 48 hours to address the problem? So far they've been pretty competent. I’m still trying to figure out who “SC and company” are. SC stands for Samuel Curtis, founder's name being Samuel Curtis Johnson, but what I want to know is does he have a great great great granddaughter who is a 5* point guard - we have big pharmacy and chemistry departments at OSU.

Rueck is recruiting at the highest level. Along with that, comes athletes who have unlimited options. So you're going to lose some here and there, for one reason or another. The transfer portal giveth, and the transfer portal taketh away. I'm betting on Rueck to figure it out.

Look no further, we need you and you have an open slot to play for ... Gone - Faustino Goforth Goodman Simmons Please apply ! Elite program? How many titles do we have? 1 final four 5 years ago does not make you elite. Very good, but not elite. UCONN, Stanford, Baylor, South Carolina. Those are Elite programs. For what it's worth: Before covid screwed up both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons , there were exactly 8 teams who had finished in the top 25 in each of the prior 6 seasons. They are Connecticut, Notre Dame, Stanford, Maryland, Louisville, Baylor, South Carolina, and OREGON STATE. There were 4 (count 'em, 4) who had finished in the top 10 in each of the previous 4 seasons. They are Connecticut, Notre Dame, Baylor, and OREGON STATE.

Ahhh yes..reduce it to childish insults...that's very mature. Childish behavior ... that's mature. Bye now. Actually it is mature. I am simply identifying your behavior and calling a spade a spade. Would you call your therapist immature for properly categorizing your poor behavior as being childish? I think not. Think of me as your online wakeup up call on what it means to be childish (ie. calling you out on it) ...and bye to you too...I have no doubts you will read this message. Take it to heart and reform yourself. I know you can grow up.

I'd bet that the Sasha situation was NOT known until after the season was final, Aleah, MAYBE, or not. The transfer thing is too easy, too easy for kids to be led down the primrose path, or give in to "I'm not appreciated enough", or someone is getting all the attention, or I want to shoot more, any number of feelings. When someone makes a commitment, it ought to mean COMMITMENT, not, well maybe I'll stick around for a one year and see if i want to stay longer, or not. This puts an enormous amount of stress on the coaches and the schools, changing scholly protocols, trying to anticipate who may leave and destroy your team chemistry that is fragile anyway with teenage athletes, as we've seen occurring at other schools now. I'd be more in favor of at least some kind of deterrent to willy nilly, just up and leave and land on your feet moving from team to team as you feel fits your circumstance. You are part of a team, the team, coaches, schools, fans, suffer when you decide it's all about you in most cases. That is not to imply that there are not some legit reasons for transfers, family circumstances, coaching changes, probably more, but right now it's creating a mess more than fixing one....JMHO...

That is not to imply that there are not some legit reasons for transfers, family circumstances, coaching changes, probably more, but right now it's creating a mess more than fixing one....JMHO... Look beyond your own selfish interests. Like it or not, COVID put huge stress on what incoming Freshman (athletes specifically) had to deal with. They HAD to stay on campus with hardly any other students around. In many cases on-line classes only means no interactions with other students and Professors. If you were put in isolation, due to no fault of your own, it was worse. The game plan of having family visit in the Fall...or go home at Thanksgiving or Christmas...was out the door. "Hey, we (family) look forward to catching you at the (fill-in-the-blank) road game and will be out in Corvallis for Family weekend and the Civil War games.(yea, I said that)...GONE Any and all well thought out strategies to help keep a new Freshman's, who is thousands of miles away from home, mental wellbeing intact prior to their leaving home was *POOF* gone. Couldn't her reasons for leaving be truly taken at face value? Guess we will have a partial answer with where she lands. So try to put yourself in someone else's place before making such strong opinionated comments. You selfish, old, crotchety, Bastard.(said half tongue in cheek)
