Very similar to Sunday's game - Florida State shot 35.5% from the floor and scored 59 points; South Carolina shot 35.5% and scored 59 points. Also, the rebounding margin in both games was +17 for the winner.
This season was just screwed up from the beginning. We made a nice run at the end of the year, and we can build on that. I'm already putting this year in the rearview mirror and looking forward to November.

Only three other teams held them to less than 60 points this year: UConn, NC State and TA&M. UConn and NC State are No. 1 seeds. If we could have hit some shots, we're right there, despite some awful officiating that gave them numerous unwarranted opportunities at the line. Dome ball is horrible on shooters. No depth perception because there is so much open space behind the baskets. Still wondering how a player holding the ball gets slapped in the face, no foul called live, and then on review when it's clear she's been slapped in the face it's called incidental contact. When you are holding the ball and get slapped in the face, it's a foul, whether the slap is intentional or not. I’m not sure if they could call a common foul. There was an additional play (and foul) after the no call. I assume they could only call a flagrant.

Congrats to the beavs on a good season. I’m just thankful these young ladies got to experience the NCAA tournament after a rough start to the year. They will learn from this game and get better.
I don’t think I necessarily agree with all the talk about athleticism being our missing piece to the puzzle. Would more athleticism and explosiveness be nice? Absolutely. But was our final four team way more athletic than the team this year? I don’t think so. We are a young team with missing pieces. Not having Kennedy this year really hurt us. She provided so much for our team last year that I definitely took for granted. She’s a big time rebounder and defender around the rim, and I think she will develop into a reliable offensive threat as well. When Jones got into foul trouble this year, which was more often than not, we immediately were not much of a threat down low (offensively or defensively), further allowing the opposing team’s defense to focus on smothering our shooters. This is not a knock on Mitrovic whatsoever. She played some really solid minutes for us this year, but I see Kennedy filling the void next year.
Other than that, this team really needs to start valuing every possession. At times it felt like whoever was handling the ball (besides Aleah) was lackadaisical and not ready to protect it from feisty defenders. I have no doubt Scott will make sure that everyone fully understands the importance of every possession.
With a higher seed, we would likely be heading to the Sweet 16. There is so much potential on this team. With our current recruiting momentum, the beavers will be a force for years to come. Don’t lose faith!

This team only needs a little more experience (and the seniors returning...one in particular), with additions of Kennedy and Greta, to be a very special team next year and beyond. Those of you who think this team won't be able to challenge the top teams next season will be wrong. The only thing that will stop noticable improvement from this season to next is mass exodus of players or major injuries.

A swipe across the face is incidental contact? OK Had to call it incidental because there was no call when it actually occured....Poor officiating, should not be happening in an NCAA tournament event. A total joke for referees.

Is the Final Four team more athletic than this season's team? I would say so, but not by a huge margin. I'll go with Wiese, Weisner, Gabby Hanson, Gulich, Deven Hunter, and Hamblin as a group. But let's be honest, they really didn't play anyone in the tournament until Baylor and came up with the big win there before UConn's depth and yes, athleticism, overwhelmed them. But I don't mean to be all doom and gloom. The Beavers will be in good shape with Brown and Kampschroeder in the fold. I just believe that the more athleticism the Beavers can add, the closer the program gets to that truly elite level. I know nobody here really likes to look at Oregon, but last season they without a doubt had a team that could have won the title. They had Sabrina, but what really made them tick was the mismatches they could create up front with Sabally and Hebard. They were just too quick for most other forwards and centers. I'm thinking Gardiner will be in that mold, but she won't be here for a bit. Future looks bright.

If Aleah and Kennedy return next year, OSU will be a top tier team. Each of the freshmen have specific skills, and/or conditioning/strength that they should work on over the off season. If each of them invest in their off season development, OSU can address some of the athletic gap (although, I think the gap is not large). We had a lot of "new" this season, and much fewer games than the likes of South Carolina and other top tier teams. Our defense really improved, and only gets better if Kennedy returns to the lineup. Taylor had to carry a heavy load defensively, and not having Kennedy really put a lot of pressure on her. With Kennedy, Taylor is far less likely to be in foul trouble. I like our new freshmen, and we have another stud showing up next season. Future will be bright in Corvallis next year.
