I may have missed it. Did the Tennessee fan come back and congratulate the Beavs? Not that I have seen. He said he "might" be back I believe. He also said he would root for the Beavers the rest of the way. Not sure how we can be sure of that though. lol See the Congrats Beavs thread below on the main page. He came back.

And where, pray tell, is that alwayssomecolororwhatever? Has he not guts to show up? Guess not! BTW, Roman Silva was a STUD today! 8 for 8 is a pretty good FG%. His play at the post was on another level! A huge key to our success. After further consideration I have decided that "stud" is not the right word. A more appropriate description of #12 (yes, he wears number TWELVE!) is that he is a Roman God! That said I am sure someone else will step up on Sunday as this is the new norm for this team.

Duke had several one and doners that were critical to their last Championship. Duke is duke. They’re on TV more than Leave It To Beava... re-runs. Pete ? Providence! “They have 8 McDonalds All-Americans. We eat at McDonalds.” Ha ha! Classic!

Yes, one-and-done freshmen often lead their teams to NCAA championships. Anthony Davis and Carmelo Anthony are the two that have done it. Well coached teams too. Which was my point. Rick Barnes is a chump and nobody should be surprised Wayne Tinkle outcoached him.

Where in the world is alwaysorange.....his comments on the win would be appreciated. His constant Hating on Wayne needs to be addressed. Here I am. Let me first say that I am more than ecstatic over the beavs and coach tinkles current success. However, up until a couple of weeks ago the beavs weren't even looking at the nit. I hope the beavs beat ok state and continue dancing. Yes we have played much better over the last couple of weeks. Lets see what happens a year from now. If we are back to hoping for an nit bid then yes I will be again be voicing criticism of the coaching. In the meantime go beavs! Take your shot I know you can't wait.

How dare you ever doubt this team after losing to UP, UW and getting drubbed by a weak UA team!! In your defense (and mine), even WT spoke of being very worried about losing the team at that point in the season just recently - and talked about players going with "dribble-jack" basketball - we all saw it, and it was going nowhere, and the team was not listening to the coaches at that point whatsoever. Major kudos for him figuring out how to get through this this group. For those piling on orange, just enjoy the ride as well - I don't recall anybody at that time saying "they'll figure it out and be playing their best ball by the conference tourney".

This is the problem I have with fans. Wayne needs to go, he can’t coach. Team wins a bunch of games. Wayne is doing a great job. Team loses some games. Wayne can’t coach again.

So if I'm doing my math right, WT is only two (official) NCAA Tournament wins at OSU behind Ralph? I'm starting to really like this guy. Officially: Slats Gill 8 Ralph Miller 1 Wayne Tinkle 1 Paul Valenti 1
Ralph Miller's two wins in 1982 were later vacated.
Unofficially:
Slats Gill 8 Ralph Miller 3 Wayne Tinkle 1 Paul Valenti 1
Update: Officially: Slats Gill 8 Wayne Tinkle 2 Ralph Miller 1 Paul Valenti 1 Ralph Miller's two wins in 1982 were later vacated. Unofficially: Slats Gill 8 Ralph Miller 3 Wayne Tinkle 2 Paul Valenti 1 Wayne Tinkle is now officially second all-time in NCAA Tournament victories behind only Slats Gill. Unofficially, Tinkle passed Paul Valenti into third place all-time in NCAA Tournament victories with the chance to tie Ralph Miller in NCAA Tournament victories against Loyola of Chicago. For comparison purposes, seven seasons in (officially): Ralph Miller: 96-97 overall. One Sweet Sixteen appearance in one NCAA Tournament appearances. No Pac-12 Championships. Wayne Tinkle: 112-108 overall. One Sweet Sixteen appearance in two NCAA Tournament appearances. One Pac-12 Tournament Championship, i.e. the only one that counts nowadays.
In Miller's eighth season, he went 16-11, which would match Tinkle's 112-108 overall record.
In fact, Tinkle just caught Miller since Miller started 112-107 and Tinkle was 111-108. Tinkle can pass Miller with a win. Miller went to the NIT in season nine, which was the first of seven consecutive postseason appearances for Miller and 10 over the subsequent 11 years. That span of seven consecutive postseason appearances includes four Pac-10 Championships. That is going to be tough for Tinkle to keep up with.
