$670K to go away. I don't care where the money comes from, just unreal.
I lived thru Carly Fiorina getting $21M and Mark Hurd getting close to $40M at HP, so I shouldn't be surprised anymore...

It's the way of the world. Counsel suggested that it would cost much more than that to fire him, which blows my mind. Why can't a guy just be fired anymore? Sucks. So next to lose his/her head ought to be the fool(s) who hired him without more carefully examining the situation.

So he's batting .500. But I care more about the selection of a university president than I do a coach. So yeah, if Lamar Hurd hired Alexander without due scrutiny, then he ought to be reprimanded somehow. After all, his mistake is costing us minimally half a million dollars. Minimally, he ought to come forward and explain what went wrong in the selection process. Wouldn't you agree? Or are you OK with just sweeping everything under the rug? That's what the old boys do best. Stick together. Brush things off. Protect each other.

Yes, they screwed up and I'm certain you will see a much more open and public process with a lot more scrutiny over the next candidate. But, I don't think canning all of them and starting over is the answer. Do you really think that the 7 women on the committee were aware of all of the details and still chose to hire him?

Based on the Tweet that includes Steve Clark's response--speaking for the board--to the letter from LSU's Board member to us, I have no great confidence in our board.
In the end, how they respond will determine whether they deserve our confidence or not. If they are quick to let it go, as maybe you are, then it's clear that they don't deserve our confidence. Or our support.
Remember, they voted to let Mr. Alexander stick around.

Or our support. Remember, they voted to let Mr. Alexander stick around. No they didn't. They voted for a probationary period until they got more information. There's a big difference between probation and a vote of confidence. Then today when they had received enough additional information, they were prepared to fire him if he didn't resign. If they would have canned him without the additional info, it could have let to a multi-million dollar lawsuit for the university. Determining a firing for cause is very dicey in these situations. The additional heat during this probation period on F. King led to him resigning instead of going through the process of getting fired and the university is only out a year's salary. Much cleaner then a potential legal process.

Yes F. King was forced out at LSU by one of the big donors. It was a day that was celebrated by many LSU alums. Those same people seemed plenty OK with a POS football coach, though. And they seem OK now with a POS basketball coach, too. Your buddy F. King and his cronies kept the Les Miles stuff from getting out in the public. No one knew what was going on, but the Les Miles stuff is apparently small peanuts compared to what the players got away with. However continue to focus on Les Miles. What makes Will Wade a POS? Can’t wait to hear your answer to this.

You think "make him a strong ass offer" doesn't mean money? Like the offer was that the kid gets to go the Harvard of Louisana and that's it? Wade is right up there with all the other scumbags. Your school even suspended him and renegotiate his contract because they knew he did something wrong.
