After reading that, seems like there is still plenty of room to still fire FKingA at the end of the probation. Probably not, but after getting a paddling from mommy and daddy board of trustees and a tweak on the nose "To be good now, you bad little boy" OSU and FKingA will never be taken seriously again while he is in charge. Seems like we should see some blood letting in the Board of Trustees as well, how they let FKingA be the new president hire is kind of beyond belief.

Well you can rest assured that canocrapo is stroking a huge hard-on for F-King. Limo Larry is being shown the door and a new villain just landed in his lap. Doubt that the BoT will be spared from his vile either.
What a mess......... and it will be worse if it was preventable..........

Is it regular probation or double secret probation?

Look at the number of people who spoke yesterday representing a good section of the university and the community. If they keep the pressure up, the Board will let Alexander go. Why should we have to wash LSU's dirty laundry? Screw that!

I also found it funny that ANOTHER outside, independant "firm" will be raking through the coals of all this for the board, it must be a truly glorious time to be in the outside and independent business This probation mostly seems like kicking the can down the road.

So....how much would we have to pay him if he is fired?

So....how much would we have to pay him if he is fired? I'd like to think that the "probation period" in actuality means "time for lawyers to see how we can get out of this as cheaply as possible." I should know better, but that's what I'm hoping.

I wish there were a little more focus on the specific alleged misdeeds by Alexander. Anyone have a concise (one or two page) summary? Preferably authored by someone other than Canzoni.

In sifting through everything, IMO the biggest "misdeed" (other than the harm done to those directly involved in having to fend off coaches et al)) is Pres. Alexander's failure to maintain plausible deniability - LSU was a train wreck about to happen and the engineer playing with his cell phone managed to toss it aside and get a new job after the wreck but before they discovered the cell phone and finished the investigation......sorta feeling like it leaves us holding some kind of bag after following the dog around on their walkies.

I guess it’s one thing to say that some bad things happened and as the President he should have known about them and acted on them. It’s another thing to say some bad things happened and he definitely knew about them and responded insufficiently and/or deceptively. If it’s the latter then he should be shown the door. If it’s the former he’ll need to show that it won’t happen on his watch at OSU.

And if he didn’t know, it speaks to his ineptitude as president. If I read it correctly, we’re talking a few years of looking the other way. I’d like to believe that Oregon State isn’t like some other universities that puts sports ahead of the wellbeing of the students. I’d like to think that we don’t subscribe to the Old Boy school of thought. Toss him. Get this stink off of us before we regret it. Start fresh.

From a cold pragmatic point of view there are only 3 things that will determine FKA’s fate at OSU 1. Will his Presidency negatively impact fundraising? 2. Will his Presidency negatively impact student recruitment/enrollment? 3. Will his Presidency negatively impact legislative relationships in Salem or DC? If the answers to the above are ‘no’, he stays. If the answers to any of the above are ‘yes’ then he’ll be packing his bags.

I like your questions but I think they should be flipped from 'negatively' to 'positively'. 1. Will his Presidency positively impact fundraising? 2. Will his presidency positively impact student recruitment/enrollment? 3. Will his presidency positively impact legislative relationships in Salem or DC? I think this is the better way to look at it because even if he has no impact, then OSU loses--especially with fundraising. He's got to be making it worthwhile for us to keep him on board, imo. Also, I think your #3 (and mine) could already be answered, since Sara Gelser has already called for his removal. (District 8 Senator (Corvallis, Albany, etc.))

I did try to tell ya’ll that this F. King dude was a bit of a establishment, I’m to good for everyone type person. No one outside the program knew about this Les Miles stuff or the players either but I’m not surprised that F. King is pushing the blame off.
F. King Alexander is a POS.
