Sabally and Hebard respectfully disagree Yeah, those 2 benefited immensely playing w/ Ionescu, to suggest otherwise is silly. Cazorla did just fine as well. Interesting describing a player who racked up 1091 career assists as a ball hog. Graves required that every entry pass had to go through SI’s hands so she could build assists and get her ‘triple double’ trophy !

Yet somehow playing along side Ionescu for 3 years, Cazorla managed to dish out 691 assists of her own, good enough for #2 in school history. This does not seem to fit your narrative.

Back to 2024 recruiting...
Oregon State has already dished out five reported offers in 2024. Usually the number of offers that goes publicly reported is only about two to three. For it to already be at five is intriguing. I would also not be surprised to see 2023 be a relatively small class, probably one or two at the most -- keeping lots of room and playing time available for the 2024 class.

I'm not a Ionescu hater (I reserve that for her coach), but by far Cazorla's best year in assists came the year before Ion showed up. In fact the entire teams stats took a hit after Ion showed up. Points, assists etc dropped sharply and never did recover after Ion showed up.

Entire team stats after Ionescu arrived actually improved - 1st or 2nd offensive effiency, top 5 in Assist to TO ratio, top 10 in scoring offense and top W-L % (all national ranking) in each of her four seasons in Eugene. For OSU, it also meant that teams traveling to the Willamette Valley faced the hardest road trip (full houses, ranked teams and superlative talent for both teams) in the nation according to many analysts. With the way both teams are recruiting and the high quality of coaching in Corvallis and Eugene, no reason to think that the road trip to Oregon will not continue to be harrowing for conference foes.

There are 4 'freshmen' this year (Marotte, Mitrovic, Kampschroeder, and Von Oelhoffen), and 4 more coming next year (Gardiner, Beers, Blaylock, and Hansford). Additionally, there are 3 'sophomores' this year (Brown, Jones, and Mannon). I would guess Scott will bring in 3, if he can, in 2023 and 2024, with the idea of getting back to a lower total number through graduation. I think the transfer portal will cause him to keep his numbers slightly higher than they have been in the past. He brought in 2 freshmen last year, and they both left.

I forgot that Jalena is still a freshman. That makes for a potentially amazing class. Makes it much easier to forget those that choose to transfer out.

Look at what the ducks have done, with highly rated players ! They tie them up for awhile , dampen down their skills. Go nowhere. and then they transfer out ! The only one that met expectations was Sabrina the ball hog … every other girl on the floor and on the bench had to suffer through that crap ! Sabally especially sucked and Hebard was so so. Makes you look low IQ, dude

Another 2024 offer - Jordan Lee, a 6-0 guard from St. Mary’s (Stockton, CA): Joordan Lee is listed as a guard (5/10" to 6'0") and as a forward (6'3"). Odd that there is such a dicrepancy. ESPN currently has her ranked as #19 in the class of 2024. She has many offers, including Stanford, Gonzaga, Michigan, TCU, Rutgers, Utah, California, Kentucky, Cincinnati, and probably a lot more, considering that the offers are scattered across the US.
