BYU competes in the West Coast Conference and is predicted to finish 3rd, 4th and 5th in 2021 by the three major polling networks. Pepperdine and U San Diego are the WCC favorites this year. The Cougars are coached by Mike Littlewood who is 224-171 in his BYU tenure.
The Cougars return 26 players, including 6 position players from their 7-9 2020 team. The 2020 team had some signature wins beating Gonzaga 7-1, and Oregon State 4-3 in Surprise, then taking a series from Cal Poly-SLO. Scouting reports indicate some veteran leadership and pitching will be their strength in 2021.
BYU comes to Corvallis with a 3-5 record for 2021. They split a 4 game series with Texas State in San Marcos, winning 9-4 and 7-6, and losing 5-4 and 11-6. They dropped 3 out of 4 in Austin against Texas, losing 11-1, 12-6, 3-1 and winning 5-4
