That indeed was a very special year .....just one mark that took some of the luster off it caused by the ump in Game 2 World Series with LSU. This years team has similar pitching, if not better, than 2017 but not quite the offensive firepower of the 2017 squad but I’m hoping that our team will improve on that |

That indeed was a very special year .....just one mark that took some of the luster off it caused by the ump in Game 2 World Series with LSU. This years team has similar pitching, if not better, than 2017 but not quite the offensive firepower of the 2017 squad but I’m hoping that our team will improve on that The 2017 pitching staff had the lowest ERA in the history of the program. We have a long season ahead to be considered similar or better. |

Long season, like you said. But the Beavers are currently out in front of their 2017 pace. They just need to keep grinding. |

It is easy - The University of Oregon has been exceptinal at finding good players. Their problem has been those good players all sign with OSU.

They had 34 runs in 2 games. Look at the other games and there are some issues with this team scoring runs. The fact that we are even having this conversation is a gift. Not long ago there were members of this board declaring the demise of the program and only after a 10 year rebuild could we talk of getting back to Omaha and a shot at a national championship. The 2017 team had some challenges scoring runs for the first 7 inning at times, thus the constant late innings heroics. I seem to remember a very cold night early in the year when Preston scored from second on a wild pitch in extra innings. Did we win that game 1-0 or was it 2-1? The great thing about baseball is the substantial volume of stats the game creates. The glass can be 3/4 empty or mostly full depending on how you look at them. I'm just having a great time watching these kids right now...and chuckling at the Canham doubters. |
