With the remaining schedule: - I think OSU is in the tourney to day, given the 34 NET rating: www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-basketball-net-rankings- A loss this week probably doesn't change getting in the tournament, but probably means a first-round loss in the Pac-12 tournament puts us at risk of missing. A win this week probably gets us a pretty attractive seeding, regardless of the tournament. - We can still finish between 5th and 8th, I believe: pac-12.com/womens-basketball-standings - That means, no chance at a first-day buy. - The tournament format means all seeds lower than 4 are playing 3 games back-to-back to get in the tournament. That's a really big ask. pac-12.com/article/2021/02/19/pac-12-announces-adjustment-2021-pac-12-womens-basketball-tournament-schedule. Making a deep run probably requires a huge blowout on day 1 with playing everybody to have a shot at winning game 2. Getting even a 3rd game would be something pretty extraordinary, particularly given our game shape issue having played so little in general. That said, more than 1-2 wins in the tournament are just about seeding anyway. - First game matchups would be ASU, Utah, UW or Cal. Not sure who I'd prefer, but ironically Cal's probably the only one could even be argued as having a recent upward trend of that crew. In any case, it's all about this week and getting that W - it's time to put things back in the proper order!

An announcer of the Arizona/Stanford game just said that Charlie Creme has OSU in the “last four out” in his latest bracketology. I have yet to see it posted anywhere.

Gotta get a "W" on Sunday in Eugene. That would be six (6) PAC-12 road wins, and, probably cement OSU in the NCAA Tournament. For anyone who is a WCBB fan, watching OSU the past few games, it would be hard not to include OSU in the field of 64. I believe there are many teams in the top 25 that OSU can/will beat if they get the opportunity.

Well...why isn't SR and OSU playing Stanford this week? ? Tara Vanderveer has made it very clear that OSU has an "open invitation" to play them at Stanford, including this week. Tara says it does not look like it's happening. WHY NOT? ?? It gives the appearance of being afraid to play them...thoughts??? Taylor Jones has stated how much they like playing Stanford...to play against the best...the challenge, the measuring stick for the team... I mean, come on...how could losing to the number 2 team at their place hurt OSU's NET ranking? OSU should play them Thursday night...what gives?here is Tara's post game interview where she states this:

Beating the schmucks on Sunday means we will be in the Oregon-Stanford bracket for the PAC-12 tourney. I'm thinking the UCLA-Arizona bracket might be better?
Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

Several reasons, all having to do with total losses. If you lose 2 next weekend, you've perhaps played your way out of the tournament. Also, it impacts your seeding in the conference tournament. Right now we're tied for 5th. If we get a 5 seed, we play the 12 seed on day one and the 4 seed on day two. Win both of those, and then we play Stanford, the 1 seed. If we lost 2 games this weekend, we drop in the conference seeding - might even play Stanford on day two.
I'm all in favor of playing a make up game this week, but I strongly prefer Cal or Washington.

I bet if the OSU players got to vote, they would choose to play Stanford. Obviously SR is taking a safer route rather than being a riverboat gambler.

Seems to be they should be "safer" than this.

There are two teams in the conference that always give the Beavs a tough time when both teams are good, Stanford and Arizona St. When playing the rest of the league, I'd give the Beavs and SR the advantage almost every time. We haven't had much success against Stanford though, even in our good years.
We could play Stanford this week, but it would almost certainly be a loss. The Beavs are improving, but I'm not sure they are at the "beat Stanford" stage yet. We already played Stanford once this season, and played pretty well (my opinion), but we missed both games against Cal. It makes a lot more sense to play a makeup game with Cal, but I'm thinking they aren't interested.

If things go really well for OSU WBB in the PAC-12 Tournament, OSU WBB would likely get another shot at Stanford.

How many games has OSU won at Maples ever? 1 or 2? This would be a loss almost certainly, and as a bubble tournament team I get why Rueck might be ducking a make up game at this point. Still it's a bit disappointing for the OSU program not to step up to the challenge.
