New Stadium capacity...reported by Scott Barnes..mid to high 30s....Comments?? We didn't even draw 40K for the 2018 game that used to be named after a battle between northern and southern citizens of the united states.......so I think going bigger would've been a mistake. Make it smaller, bring everyone closer to the field, create a bit of an exclusive feel....I think it's the way things are going. The proposed baseball stadium in Portland is going to be under 30K I believe.

Who is "Andrew" , the questioner? Will a visitors' dressing room be included in Westside Complex? I hope not.

My soon to be 55th year on this planet has been at least partially defined by being a Beaver fan as long as I can remember. That video kinda put a lump in my throat. OK it did. Happy for Beaver nation...Go Beavs!

Man if I ever donate $50MM to any organization, you're goddamn right EVERYONE is going to know it was me. Edit: but I will draw the line at requiring my own likeness to be on the walls of ladies restrooms, like the weirdo down south. You might not if you made the money overnight on GME stock and didn't want anybody know you were suddenly rich

The proposed baseball stadium in Portland is going to be under 30K I believe. Attendance is down among many programs nationwide, but with current capacity at ~45,700, going under 40k seems like a drastic reduction IMO. That 2018 program was 2-10. I'm not surprised attendance was low even for a CW game. Put a competitive program on the field and Reser has been filled and drawn 43-44k+ consistently. Going under 40k capacity just screams small time to me like a lot of things OSU and the Pac-12 has done in recent history. I know we won't ever reach SEC levels of attendance or enthusiasm, I just hope we don't go too low in capacity that we regret not being able to get more fans at games.
Other than that I love everything I'm hearing about this. Fan experience and atmosphere are paramount to OSU and this finally brings the one sore spot in the football facilities up to par. I love that it's incorporating the entire university and going beyond just helping football as well. This has been a long time coming and I'm stoked for it!

I just have to remind everyone that the “Civil War” game was NOT and NEVER HAS BEEN named after the American Civil War of 1861-1865. It is a “Civil War” in the true sense of the phrase that it’s a battle between members of the same group. (In our case, citizens of the State of Oregon). Also, I believe the theoretical PDX baseball stadium was proposed to have about 32,000 seats.

With the new concourse area and a couple of existing areas with views of the field, you could still probably get close to 40K with an SRO crowd. I think that's plenty big enough. And, if it isn't, the endzone was engineered for a 2nd deck.

If it’s under 40k seat capacity then will be a problem when the ucks and one of Big Ten schools come in town. Will leave many disappointing fans not able to get in the stadium. Also when win games becoming consistent will be a problem for under 40k.

Happy for Beaver nation...Go Beavs! Put a lump in my throat too. We are relatively the same age...you a CHS grad I believe...myself a Philomath grad. Went to CHS games at Parker in my youth. Saw the bottom...now we are heading back up the hill positively. So excited and can't wait to see the finished product.

I actually think a smaller capacity makes sense. Far more fans are choosing to watch games from the comfort of home. There’s a ton of fun things to do on the weekend in Oregon (and the west coast for that matter) and I don’t see any Pac 12 schools drawing consistantly like they used to. I would much rather see a high quality, full, jewel box of a stadium than an half empty albatross.
