News articleOn Friday, Oregon State announced von Oelhoffen has graduated high school early and has joined the program early. She will be available to practice and play with the team upon passing all university health protocols. What are the health protocols? Is it 2 or 3 negative tests or a set period of time?

For those that missed yesterday’s pregame show, Scott Rueck stated that Talia arrived on Friday and it will take about two weeks before she can join practices.

Nice to get some positive in a difficult season thus far. Building for next year while progressing this year.

I really love this addition , both for Talia and for the team . The PAC 12 is going to be so strong, over the next couple of years, that It is going to take more than just super athletes , but super coaches and game planning , not to mention health management and injury prevention. I believe the one missing ingredient , knowing what we know today is that little fireplug, scoring machine that can pile up the assists at the same time. They are rare , but all of the upper echelon teams seem to have one ! Go Talia and Go Beavers !

I posted this back in May, but might be a welcome reminder about Talia Von Oelhoffen: Talia comes from amazing athletic genes. Her mother, Tondi Redden Von Oelhoffen was one of the greatest female athletes in Washington HS history at Kamiakin HS in Richland, where she earned 12 varsity letters. She was inducted into the WIAA Hall of Fame in 2009. In basketball, she was a state champion and HS All-American and lettered 4 years at U of Hawaii, finishing 2nd in the nation in steals as a senior. In HS track, she was National Pentathalon Champion and set the Washington state record in the Heptathlon. In HS volleyball, she was on the All-state team. Details (if this link works): www.wiaa.com/arprint.aspx?ID=364. Talia's dad, Kimo Von Oelhoffen, played 14 years in the NFL on defensive line, winning a Super Bowl Ring with the Steelers in 2005. Big boy at 6-4 299 lbs. He played at Boise State. Just Google his name for details. He has run a construction company in the Tri-Cities area and at one time owned two restaurants there, one named "Kimo's." Check out the 17,000 square foot house, with indoor basketball gym, they once lived in, by Googling "12th MANsion." Talia's older sister Kamri played 2 years at Yakima Community College averaging 18 and 19 points finishing in 2019. I do not know if she is still playing. Talia's older sister Jayln was a star in HS 9 years ahead of Talia. Don't know if she played any college. One of the sisters was an AAU teammate of former Beaver great Jamie Weisner (now Scott).

nksuwu, thanks for the reminder on her parents. It's about 1,000,000 to 1 (probably higher) that Talia will ever be second in nation in steals playing for SR, but chances of her having a great career at Oregon State are very good. She's a great talent, but I think she has quite a bit to learn. Having this season to prep her for next year is a big benefit, and if Aleah sticks around next year to help her while she progresses, that would be perfect.
