Madison Conner (Arizona) is a great get for them to have early too. She's a talent and this will give her a leg up on next year as well.

This message was appended to that twatter message: Talia will be available to practice and play with us upon passing all university health protocols. #WeAreFamily Twatter? I hope that was a typo.

Good for her, but talk about another slap in the face to Kat. Kat gets 3 years all these players now are getting 4.5 to 5 years.

I’m wondering where Talia will fit into this current roster. I can only imagine she’ll be coming off the bench to start things out, considering she will have had VERY minimal time to gel with this team. But, I could see her making an ample impact as the season progresses. After all, she’s not coming to Corvallis a season early for no reason! Thoughts?

It's almost impossible to make an educated assessment of Talia's contribution to the team with no first-hand evidence, so here I'll just put forth a few conjectures.
One: Talia might be able to provide the dribble penetration the Beavs so desperately need to run Rueck's offense effectively.
Two: We don't know if Talia is ready to play Pac level defense. So, even if she is an offensive asset it might not be enough for Coach to give her floor time.
Three: Talia has virtually no experience feeding skilled post players - so it's a bit of a "wait and see" if she is an asset to Taylor and Jelena and their productivity.
Four: No matter how you look at it, having her on the roster for the remainder of the season has to be considered an asset for the program going forward...
Five: I really hope she is better than I think she is because the Beavs really, I mean REALLY, need help with their offence, with slash and attack, and with team speed.
At any rate, just a few things to think about. GO BEAVS!!

The girl is supremely confident, her family has helped instill that I imagine. She's played a ton of AAU ball on good teams, against tough competition. Whether she freezes up on a Pac-12 floor is to be seen, given little time with even friendly teammates in practice. I'm dying to find out, I expect she will relax quickly and start showing her stuff in a short time. Our coaches will not set her up to fail I'm sure.

I think they'll bring her along very slowly, and she'll play limited minutes, even in blowout games. It's January 16, and the team has only played 6 games- the starters are deficient in game experience this year, and a regular rotation isn't even really set. There's just not going to be many minutes available for someone who doesn't know the system and hasn't played with her teammates at all.
So I don't envision her having a big impact on this team's performance. It's the practice time that will pay dividends for her and the team next year.

I think she will play plenty. It's not like a regular year where there has been tons of practice time...we have only played a handful of games, and far less practices than a non covid year. In addition,it's not like the current group is returning from last year. There are numerous newcomers who haven't meshed yet by any stretch. If she can play...she will play. Just my opinion.

Guard/wing rotation is fairly light. I think one of Corosdale or Mack needs to be coming off the bench, starting together has not been working. Start 3 perimeter players, w/ TVO added to the mix that's one more player to add in. Not sure if Simmons or Samuel should get the starting nod. Pretty obvious Faustino and Mannen aren't ready for significant minutes.

Pretty obvious Faustino and Mannen aren't ready for significant minutes. If this were the case, Corosdale and Simmons should get the starting nod. Experience in Pac-12 play is huge and Simmons especially has been a positive spark for this team as of late. I don’t see Samuel being worked into the starting rotation for the foreseeable future, but I would love to be proven wrong if her skills continue to develop accordingly. She’s very aggressive offensively and seems to move quickly on defense as well. Both of these are attributes that this team needs.
