The state of the program is excellent. Just the fact that the program is in a place that we can have a "rebuilding year" says a lot about the state of the program. As some have pointed out already, the challenge this year is primarily the 2018 recruiting class being non-existent, compounded by the 2017 recruiting class being good but not super strong, and key injuries. The 2019 class and the 2020 class are excellent. The 2021 class is also expected to be great. 2018 has hardly produced anything. Jas is just now starting to bring value. Hopefully she can build on that for the remainder of this year and next, but she isn't going to be a superstar. Taya is coming off of a serious injury and has never really given much on the offensive end. At least not as much as I had expected. I don't remember if she was a 4 star or 5 star. She has been solid, but not a superstar either. Aleah has been better than expected for a 3 star or 4 star. I doubt that Scott expected her to be a 1000 point scorer and the all-time leader in three point shooting percentage when her career was done. With that said, if she is your best player, then it's probably a rebuilding year in the Pac 12. The underclassmen are all really good. The program is in a great place. This particular season (and the 2nd half of last season) may be frustrating at times, but that doesn't mean the program is in a bad spot. It's all cyclical. Combine the above with a few others programs being on an upswing currently. I believe we will be back toward the top very soon.

In looking back at OSU recruiting since 2017, Taya is underperforming, but certainly her injury has contributed to this. Andrea is "underperforming", not because of her ability, but rather her health. 3 star players are good but not great. Patricia underperformed somewhat. Jasmine is probably on par for her rating.
OSU recruiting classes as per ESPN only:
2017 Taya Corosdale 5 star (#26 overall) Aleah Goodman 4 star (#63 overall)
2018 Andrea Aquino 5 star (#21 overall) Jasmine Simmons 3 star (Australia) Patricia Morris 3 star
2019 Kennedy Brown 5 star (#20 overall) Taylor Jones 5 star (#43 overall) Jelena Mitrovic (Serbia. ESPN typically does not rank many players outside of North America)
2020 Sasha Goforth 5 star (#21 overall) Savannah Samual 3 star (not ranked in top 100) Ana Teresa Faustino (Portugal. ESPN typically does not rank many players outside of North America)
2021 Talia Von Oelhoffen 4 star (#25 overall) *[ESPN switched rating service provider from Olsen to Premier Sports. The latter has fewer 5 stars.] Greta Kampschroeder 4 star (#32 overall)
2022 Raegan Beers 5 star (#10 overall) Adlee Blacklock (not listed or ranked by ESPN)

Rueck runs a very complicated program and the fact that there are growing pains at the start of what has to be a very unusual season is not surprising.
Perhaps Little Napoleon should adopt the KISS principle?
And this is the kind of in-depth analysis that I come to this board for. Bravo!
