I see he's not yet on the official list of signees released by OSU.
Is he still expected to sign?

Looks like the coaching staff has declared the NLI signing class complete at 10 members. That list does not include Malakhi Knight. Or: Wilson Weber, Diego Alvarado, Cole Nelson, Reece McRae, Casey Swanson, Jayson Hibbard, Van Larson.
I suspect (other than Knight) some or all will be in fall camp next year as walk-ons.
Knight will probably be an early draft pick next summer.

Usually there is a reason a recruit doesn't sign early in the period. We can only speculate. Sometimes the athlete will wait a week or two so he/she can participate with other athletes in a signing ceremony at a school assembly. Knight may also be still considering several D-1 basketball offers, maybe a school where can double in hoops and baseball.
Everyone has him commited to OSU, and in a recent check, he's still showing up committed to OSU on the baseball websites. Unless he makes it known he will attend college first before embarking on a pro career, he will be drafted fairly early next June. How early will depend on several factors including what kind of bonus money he expects to receive.
The odds of seeing Knight and Tyree Reed on campus in 2021 are probably less than 50-50.

Malakhi continues to be a mystery for me. I was hoping one of our "Bennysboard" guys would find something since i was about 0-10 and in a real search slump. I have scoured the net, read a dozen twitter, Facebook and Instagram sites that might reveal something but alas, nothing. Every one still has him committed to OSU, some recent remarks from him were all positive, and I can't find him signing anything with anybody. There are all kinds of possibilities here, including some kind of accomodation or arrangement with OSU to see how he fares in the draft, then sign if his expectations don't materialize. He has until August 1, 2021 to sign - well after the draft is completed. If there was some negative issue involved you would thing the Everett Herald or Seattle Times would have mentioned that by now.
This is a very good class. We don't need any drama or disappointment to spoil it.
Our #16 ranking is severely impacted without his signature.

I haven't put as much effort into this but isn't the possibility of a Basketball scholarship potentially holding up his signing? If he signs a baseball LOI with the might Beavers he would also have to play Basketball for WT. He might be waiting until Basketball recruiting is over... I guess that was what I was concluding on a little bit of reading up on him. As I understand it the COVID has recruiting frozen right now? And the next Basketball signing period is this spring? I honestly don't follow Basketball recruiting... add on the COVID restrictions and I have no flippin clue when that day is.

That is a definite possibility. Malakhi has a complete game - he plays great defense, handles it and shares the ball, boards and scores at will. He can drop 30 on you and you never notice because his game is so fluid and he is so unselfish. He has D1 offers but at 6-3, knows his future is baseball. A full ride in basketball, waiting a year in baseball might be preferable to a partial scholly in baseball right away.
He has NOT decommitted, there has been NO comment anywhere, and nothing from OSU baseball. Something must be going on between the parties.
With Weber, every indication is that he is walking on or may be in line for financial aid from a source/sources other than baseball.
MC may be "tight" on scholarship money - he did bring back 3 5th year Seniors and is unrestricted on how far he wants to spread the 11.7 money.

J.R. Ritchie might have been in his ear.
Losing four Top-50 prospects in two years (two to Arizona, two to UCLA) is not a trend you want to continue. On the other hand, 3 of the four mentioned a coaching change which is fairly common in colege athletics. With a year left in high school, the UCLA pair are both projecting a top-50 draft slot next July.

most of these top 50 go in the high rounds of the draft and you are lucky if 1 out of 3 of them end up making it to college. I am not going to sweat it.

Baseball recruiting is really difficult because you not only have to beat out other powers, you also have to contend with the MLB draft on just 11.7 scholarships. We all know that. I believe both of the Susac kids committed and then decommitted when coach Casey retire to name a couple.
