The practices and scrimmages have been closed to the public in the interest of minimizing the exposure of baseball players to Covid-19. All of the other osu sports teams, that have been practicing this fall, have had at least one case of covid among their players.

Andy is a 4th year Senior that will provide a Lion's share of leadership in 2021. Last year he became a foundation of the defense playing SS. Range, arm and DP pivot were surprising to some. He was expected to be good but he surpassed those expectations.
Offensively, he was our 3rd most productive player (statistically) with a quantum jump from 2019. His 2019 slash line was .248/ .304/ .328, in 2020 he put up .321/ .373/ .458. His OPS improved from 632 to 826. He improved his BA by 73 points, his OBP by 69 points and his SLG by 130 points. He moved from the lower third in the order to upper half in 2020.
By any analysis, I think we have to acknowledge he was a better player in 2020. A year older and wiser to the ways of the game and with the data suggesting he is trending towards further improvement, I think he's poised to close his career with a banner year.
Big fan here.

Army had a pretty good summer, he actually got to play some summer ball in the Wild Wild West League. Pfennings also looked lights out. If only we could have signed Briley Knight - he was the shining star of that league and is going to make our Tuesday games against Portland State a lot tougher. Hjerpe, the Dukarts, and Washburn also shined. When Pfennings was scheduled to pitch, pro scouts were there.

Andy is a 5th-year senior. He played in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 before the season got shut down.

The Pilots built a new stadium over the summer - turned out fantastic and should make for a much better fan experience when we play on the Bluff.

'cause I'd like to see that I see Jack every so often, ran into him 6 weeks ago for coffee. He is doing great, living life, getting around and walking every day, and very sharp for 92. Always has a story or 2, and just a pleasant wonderful man.

Our company fell into some commercial work that he was involved in a couple years ago. Our superintendent brought his HS age kid in for child abuse labor on that job. Jack took an interest in him & tried to advise & help him. And Jack followed up with me later. Just a good man

Just have to say Jack Dunn was an amazing man, great coach and leader. One of the greats in NW Baseball. He and his buddy Roy Love were true leaders in NW Baseball. If I remember correctly Jack was one of the very first to promote the use of Batting Helmets in youth Baseball. I believe Roy Love passed about a year ago. Glad to hear Jack is still kicking. He was a very bright and funny man.

Jack Dunn and his friend, Roy Love were baseball beacon lights during their heyday in Portland. Jack coached at Cleveland and then Wilson before suceeding Love at Portland State as I recall. Both were masters of the "inside game" (inside the diamond) as it was called back then - before small ball or little ball became a popular description of the craft). Jack had some excellent teams at Wilson with Dale Murphy, Wayne Titchell, Rich Dodge and others. Dunn competed against Jack Riley (Jefferson) and UO Coach Mel Krause (Franklin) in the PIL. High School ball at it's best when those teams were in the ball yard.
Dunn had success year after year coaching Watco Electric in American Legion ball with a team primarily made up of his Wilson players. Both Dunn and Love were outstanding clinicians as well. Men of character that could coach and teach the game in a clinic setting equally well. They left their mark.
