Are not "losers" or "suckers".
My great-great grandfather fought with 19th Indiana Infantry Regiment at Gettysburg where he was wounded.
My grandfather left Newberg HS as an 18 year old (against the wishes of his Quaker family) to fight with the AEF in 1917. He came back as a combat veteran to finish his Senior year in 1919.
My brother served 3 tours with the ONG in Iraq (2) and Afghanistan (1).
I'm eternally grateful they returned home with with their health (mostly) intact. I must honor all those who were not so fortunate.
I'm glad they served under CIC's that honored, understood and respected their desire to serve.
I hope nobody will see the above as a "political" statement.

I don't know if I am a "loser" or a "sucker" but at least my name is not on a wall like 50,000+ of my fellow soldiers including 5 guys I was in high school with from a town of 4,000 at the time.

I don't believe the garbage our fearless leader said about our servicemen is true, but the GOP's official media mouthpiece, Fox News, has confirmed from numerous sources he said what The Atlantic has reported. |

Why in hell do people doubt commander bone spurs said these things NUMEROUS times? It’s telling how many g.o.p. Congress folks are in his corner on this thing. Close to ZILCH. He’s never even sacrificed a meal, or a round of golf for ANYONE, or any good purpose in his whole life.

I truly believe, never once in his life, he has ever done something he mildly didn't want to do but knew it would be better for the people around him, his "friends", or his family.

Well, since you brought it up.. The quotes in The Atlantic's story have been confirmed by the Associated Press, the Washington Post and Fox News. The man YOU refer to in your last line sues anyone for anything - literally thousands of lawsuits that he's pursued, including for libel/slander. So I expect a libel suit to be filed if he feels libeled. In the absence of such action, I will consider the facts of the article you reference to be unchallenged. His reflexive tweets notwithstanding. |
