So in your mind, one game does not equal one game. Got it. You're comparing an individual's basketball total games played to a football team's number of wins for bowl eligibility.
Apples and oranges.
Ok, then all of our football players that played 5 games should be considered redshirts? Is that better for you?

Not surprising.
[b How? Same thing. They played one game over the limit.

Frickin' troll.
Kat's redshirt would be for the year before when she tore her acl. That was 13 games into the season. Just over the ncaa limit and they denied her petition.
This last season, her senior year, she missed the first few games altogether and played sparingly in a lot of them. She did not really ever get back to pre injury play.
In my definitely non medical opinion it seems that an acl year takes at least a year to recover from at the level these women play at. I'd like to see them give an automatic redshirt contingent upon their sitting out the same number games they played in before their injury the next season. Basically miss a full years worth of games to gain that year back. It would help keep athletes from returning early and risking further injury.

So I missed it, or have had a senior moment: what was her most recent surgery? Me too... was there another surgery?

But she doesn’t get another year based on the current rule. Frickin poster

Wow! You see how some people react when they are clearly standing on an island by themselves, with no support. You either become irrational, or, take in opposing views and reconsider your position.

I believe we all are very certain that Kat's appeal will be turned down. Historically are there any examples of Beaver players having an appeal granted after previously being turned down? Now, if it was the "Ucks" it would be a different story!
Go Beavs!

Count me among those who believe that she has a better than 50% chance of being granted the additional season.

Kat's request for an additional season has already been denied once based on the facts presented by OSU and the NCAA's eligibility rules. Neither the facts of her career nor the NCAA's eligibility requirements have changed. Given those 2 facts I see scant reason to expect the original denial to be overturned. I'm a Kat fan so if someone could make the case for optimism, I would appreciate it.

The facts of Kats career is that she has now missed out on two tournaments that she otherwise would have been able to participate in. Is this going to be enough? We will find out.

If the ncaa followed their own rules in every case then I'd say Kat has no chance. But they don't, not even close. They have made exceptions every year. Some of them went directly against their own rules.
If one player gets an exception because of games lost due to injury two years previous why shouldn't Kat get one since she lost some of her senior season.
Ncaa is corrupt as hell.
