What's stopping all the people forced out of work (you keep bringing them up) from getting a job in another line of work that is desperate for workers? all of the 20 million private sector employees forced out of work cant get a job that pays them anywhere near what they were making before especially small business owners that drive the country's economy and those that can go back to work wont because they are making more on unemployment. So i dont believe "all" people can go back to work especially in rural areas of our country. And regarding your post as to why small business owners cant get another job after working at 25% capacity 12 hours a day with increased costs, i guess yes they could work the graveyard shirt at amazon and sleep 2 hours a day. So they probably should put in a bit more time and get a 2nd job

LOL! Except that the goddamned virus will still be circulating, still be killing others. But whatever.
You guys are interesting, but I'm weary of the subject.
Are you NOT aware that viruses (like this one) actually WEAKEN, rather than STRENGTHEN, the longer they go on (and mutate)? Everyone else doesn't have the luxury of hiding at home in their closets like YOU (apparently) do, until the big, bad virus goes away. Are we going to start instituting "lockdowns" every time flu season starts? If not, WHY NOT? Do you have any idea HOW MANY PEOPLE DIE each flu season? Especially OLDER people?
Do you have any possible idea how much higher the suicide rate is (over the last 3+ months), as well as substance abuse/dependencies increasing since this whole "lockdown" horse$#!+?
Do you even CARE?
GREAT USE OF ALL CAPS!!!!!1!!!!!!ONE!!!!!! You should stick to posting links to OSU sports stuff.

People chose the risk v reward of starting or keeping their business small. Hopefully they've reaped and saved in the good times to weather them through the downtimes.

Although private business and capitalism is the enemy and bankrolls the government, lets all hope they survive and can continue to do so.

Upset a bit? Chill, my friend. Neither you nor I will make the calls one way or the other. I simply stated the reasons why I hope that NCAA football season is cancelled. I know it won’t be, but I hope it will be. Yes, I know people die. If you’ve read my posts then you know that the whole live/die argument with COVID is inane. Do nothing until the virus goes away? Who has advocated for that? Never heard such a thing EVER. Not even the governor said that. So stop the hyperbole, please. I have simply stated that by shutting down the football season completely, we recognize that: 1. the players are placed in a difficult position otherwise 2. there could be huge potential for spreading the virus during the games among the players 3. that football is not a necessary service for the educational community, so it can be postponed 4. that the virus, though not necessarily deadly, can present complications and is not well understood yet 5. the player’s dignity as a human being is important to us, including their overall health It’s simple, man. But this is just my thinking. You are free to think otherwise, but I find it difficult to believe that any compassionate and intelligent person would choose to argue with any of the above statements.

And no one said they would be able to make as much as before. And it looks like, according to you, a lot of them are happy taking unemployment. the above post says all people forced out of work. So you didn't read the post

The players would laugh in your face with that inane nonsense. Thank you for confirming a lot of what I have argued! Well said! Now if you could just understand it....sigh.

It's just outright wrong (your own desires) and baseless.
Thank you for your opinion.

LMAO!! So you leave posters no choice. Agree with your points or they are not intelligent and compassionate. Wow... you just get smaller and smaller. Lol! You call me out for my personal attack, yet you commit the same fallacy. Lol!

Viruses generally do not weaken over time. The population gets stronger. maybe pedantic, but an important distinction. It is what happens when a disease becomes endemic. And it can take time. We don't need to do lockdowns for flu season, because the flu is A. endemic and B. we have vaccines for the flu on average 38,000 people per year die from the Flu. Most of them older. We have had this conversation already... probably even in this thread but it didn't seem to take. We are already at 3.5x the total annual amount of deaths of the flu in about 4 months. And climbing. COVID deaths are not replacing these deaths... it is adding to them.

Fwiw: One of many. www.wishtv.com/news/latest-covid-19-mutation-may-indicate-the-virus-is-weakening/To boot: From Johns Hopkins and the CDC: can’t get the graph to post dang it. On the 100K COVID US deaths eve, 40 combined states have: > 41,512 deaths from the 2018 flu (CDC) > 26,389 deaths from the 2020 covid pandemic (Johns Hopkins) If you live in one of those 40 states to the right of Indiana (On the graph you can’t see!) (Hey California!) and you're not terrified of the flu, you can stop being terrified of COVID-19. Also, when we all come out of our houses, traffic fatalities will go back up, and nobody will notice. Please stop being afraid. Careful for grandma? Yes please, especially during flu season. Afraid? Please no.
