How so? Would you write this if it was Slocum?

How so? Would you write this if it was Slocum? No, I wouldn’t... simply because Oregon State (and no other program) has as intimate a relationship to Nike as TSDTR. That relationship clearly has the potential to be a big factor in recruiting. Notice the “?” In the statement. I’m not saying that is the way it happened... only pointing out that, consistent with the possibility, she got the contract. I doubt anyone could ever prove it one way or the other, which of course makes it much easier for it to happen.

“The money is important," Ionescu told me last week, “but I think the vision and kind of the plan they have in place for me, and what I can do not only for the sport, but for basketball and society.”
"..what I can do..for society"
Yeah, right. She's a sports entertainer.
I sure hope Sabrina's Liberty teammates are on board with their rookie teammate's ambitious goals "for society". They'd better be.

Don't care about Ionescu ...old news. Time to focus on the Beavers and us building a potential national title team, which uo never got. She and other sports stars don't mean much to me in the whole scope of life...

Therefore, if you don't care about the subject of the thread...

I read the Article. She is making much more Money because the WNBA does not pay enough to sustain a player. So they play all over the place. So good for Her. I would like OSU to get the same opportunity.

So, high profile athletes can't use their platform for the good of society? Or, just because she's from Oregon it's not possible? And, why do her teammates have to be on board with her investment and societal plans? Seems many "entertainers" help society. So individual players on each team consult one another for the ok on what they do in their business lives? OK so we're talking about charity donations. Thanks for the clarification. I hope she is generous with her endorsement earnings. Many pro athletes are and it is admirable. Many private citizens without endorsements also contribute to charities.

Is it a habit to write disparaging posts of someone and something you know nothing about? Just post BS to get needed attention from the anti- duck faction? Ignore or pretend you didn't because? Just curious

Deal couldn't be announced until she was officially done.

Deal couldn't be announced until she was officially done. Yep. The deal was done last year to get her back in a schmuck outfit.

Makes one angry that she is probably a millionaire now. Not fair that some people have it so easy.
