As a projected #4 seed, the Beavs would have had to play a #1 seed in the Sweet Sixteen (3rd) round. Would have preferred to avoid a very good South Carolina team as long as possible. I saw some projections that had the Beavers in the same region with Maryland, commonly regarded as the weakest of the projected #1 seeds. If one could pick one's poison, I think Maryland was the most beatable of the top-seeded teams and would have been an interesting matchup for Slocum against her former head coach.

No "what ifs" are allowed here at Benny's House. Right baseba1111 ? What if there were no clueless, immature posts trying to reach some low level of sardonic humor? As in mentioning "not allowed"... pretty sure I never mentioned not being allowed. Just the fascination on focusing on things that didn't happen nor guarantee a different outcome if they did. Or a weak attempt at, what, sarcasm, when the post immediately above yours does not even contain a "what if"? So, in the case of the aforementioned "what if" would you have the ability to even post?

I think that anyone (myself included) who speculates on this board is involved in some form of "What if?" questioning. When someone points out that a high turnover number or a low FT or FG % was a significant contributing factor to a loss, we are really questioning "What if.." our favorite team had been better in those areas and would it have made the difference between a win and a loss.
I think that absent any sports being played in our world it is healthy to have our "What if" threads and posts in order to engage in healthy debates not related to the virus. We certainly have a wide range of opinions on this board as to what should have been better this season and what we hope and expect to see happen next season for the WBB program.

If someone doesn't like "what if" threads then they just shouldn't read them.

We certainly have a wide range of opinions on this board as to what should have been better this season and what we hope and expect to see happen next season for the WBB program. "What if" threads are indeed common... and normal. However, the speculation your team would be completely different, significantly better is complete conjecture and as such subject to opposing viewpoints and questioning. If for example, a mention that at 16-1 IF OSU beat Furd the season would have turned out completely different... really? Because one game has such a profound effect on the next? Like the "lucky", highly emotional, last second win at Zona propelled OSU to a victory at ASU. Again... no one, including me stated "what if" posts are stupid, unnecessary, or even out of place. But, if you're going to draw conclusions based on fantasy be aware others may have other viewpoints. And, in doing so are NOT trying to destroy said fantasy, just offering some realism to something that never happened. And, at the same time maybe try to get some focus on real issues that need to be addressed that not only affected this season, but most assuredly will compromise next season and maybe more.

base- " just offering some realism to something that never happened" Huh, so when someone else makes a conjecture it's a "fantasy" but when base makes a conjecture it's "realism".
Interesting.

When you butt into "conversations" you typically have little knowledge of what you speak. So, since you find it so riveting to try and disparage/disagree with me... what conjecture did I make about this team and the resultant outcomes?

Based on the simulation(s) Baylor wins the NC. So, Queen Floppsy can relax, she and her team were not going win the whole thing anyway.
[yes, she really is Queen Floppsy. In a late season nationally televised game, I heard Rebecca Lobo say something close to the the effect that Sabrina is very good at falling down if she is touched at all, forcing the referees to make a call]

Is that what it's come to? Celebrating that Oregon didn't win a Championship in a simulation? Wow.

I wonder, I and many others have/do referee. I've never been "forced" to make a call when a player goes down? Hmmm... so back in real life, since her team had no opportunity for team awards (other than 31-2, Pac12 regular season and tourney champions... the only other team to do it multiple times besides Furd) in winning it all on the court she'll have to settle for: " the unanimous choice Monday as The Associated Press women's basketball player of the year, receiving all 30 votes from the national media panel that selects the Top 25 each week during the season. Since the award was first given in 1995, the only other player to receive all the votes is Breanna Stewart of UConn (2016)." "... only the eighth player to earn AP All-America honors three times, shattered the NCAA career triple-double mark and became the first player in college history to have 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 1,000 assists." "She was this year's Zion and a household name," AP voter Deb Antonelli said. "Fans and ballplayers respect her game because she works hard and produces when the brightest lights are shining on her. She delivered stats in the game no other four-year player has ever accomplished, man or woman." Maybe we can hope for a player who falls down easily?!
