Loved the fight from the girls - once they found a groove, they were able to make a great run and Stanford did not score ( I heard ), for the last 6.5 minutes ! go Beavers ! Funny to think we were all excited about the height we were going to have this year - bang, out goes Andrea, out goes Jelena, out goes Taya, out goes Kennedy ! Taylor did her best, as a Freshman phenom - but, she seems to get into 'suspect' foul trouble, while our girls are getting hammered !

This breaks my heart. She wants so badly for her team to win. Stanford is a very difficult matchup for her as they can run so many different players out to defend her. A good shooting performance by Mik and/or Destiny would have made the game more winnable. Stanford does that to players.

I sure hope that coaches recognized that we played Stanford even after down by 12 at beginning of 1st quarter. And, that vs a taller team like Stanford, we need to be in our zone defense, and, Aleah must be on the floor instead of MW. The first 5 minutes, we got schooled on the high screen, like the last 2 games with Stanford? Start out in the zone, with Taylor and our 4 best guards (players). Huge mistake by the coaches. And MW is not the answer against a much taller team like Stanford, South Carolina, Ducks. I absolutely loved how our girls played in the 2nd half. They are tough as nails. This one was on the coaches. The fact he loves MW even at center more than Morris is truly mind boggling

SLosing two tall players and Aquino has really Hurt us. Seemed that no one could get free. I like Maddie, but She was a liability. The Technical did not help and Scott needs to adjust. The officiating will be what it is. Stanford played us physical and we did not pass or drive very well. Height really bothered us. The game is changing.

She would not have changed the outcome of this game. Trish isn't going to get better sitting on the bench. I disagree. Trish came in, caught a nice pass and put it in the hoop. How many times did MW put it in the hoop on a nice entry pass from our guards?

If anyone here thinks Maddie can play center better than Morris, then they need to rewatch last night. Well either that or just look at both of them lol. Maddie had 3 rebounds just barely out of her reach in the 4th quarter alone that PM would have easily had. Then she had two point blank shots: one was stuffed for a turnover and one missed the rim completely. Morris got the ball and put it right in for an easy basket in one of her only touches.. Maddy is a nice role player off the bench. But she is NOT a center.

It is a pity that Trish did not get much playing time in pre-season when we were ahead by 20+ points. For conference play, she is shooting 72% from the field and 83% from the free throw line although her main assignment seems to be blocking near the perimeter. Her inexperience appears to show up a little more on defense. I do not think that she has to improve that much more before becoming a significant force. Maybe it is a matter of being a little more aggressive. Or maybe as a fan it is hard to judge everything that is going on out there. Anyway, I remain a Trish fan and am optimistic for next year.

Maddy is a nice role player off the bench. But she is NOT a center. No one here, but the guy that matters doesn't. So really I'll go with him. Morris isn't a difference maker in any way and 2min stints here and there prove nothing. There is always a two way street in speaking about a game like last night. The Beavers battled or Furd didn't crush OSU when they had the chance? To me the game was never there to be won after the 25 pt Furd 1st. Furd continued to get open looks and OSU had zero answer for Williams. The push late was as much to do with a Furd scoring drought on great looks vs great defense. Defense that was highly outsized yet Furd didn't really take advantage?! I know I'd the roles were reversed OSU fan would have been decrying not "stepping on their throat". As far as Morris in all this, she would not have changed the 1st qtr/game. Furd was hot inside and out with Dodson getting her game back. Once Jones was out with her 4th SR committed to and stayed small. Morris is in no way part of that scheme. Furd's drought and small ball are the only things that kept it a game. As for Morris transferring, I doubt it. From kids I tutor she loves OSU and is very happy on this team. They say she is one of the most positive people they know and well aware of any shortcomings. If SR and staff look to transfer bigs this off season she'll sort of know where she stands. She is in no way a Pac12 level big for an upper division team at this point. Saying her lack of playing time is even a factor in this season is as nebulous as the constant blaming of officials.

I think that Scott and staff are working on Trish as a project . She has great hands and can position pretty welll for rebounds - however - she has a long ways to go defensively. She has great touch on free throws , and in close- off the backboard. She will be much better next year because of her desire to compete and win . Maddie has amazed me with her size limitations - vast improvement over prior years . I am happy with how Scott has used them. Last night, I would have liked Scott putting Jazz on Stanfords shooting guard - just go in and harass her and stab at the ball both on the dribble and when she was setting up to shoot . So what if she picks up 5 non shooting fouls - she was hitting everything in sight anyway ( Kiara Williams ? ). Also, telling Jazz to start shooting a little more.

I think the reason Maddie is used is to help facilitate the offense but more importantly to set screens I don't think Morris knows how to set screens yet and is not fast enough side-to-side to play good defense yet.

Stanford was 6'3 6'3 6'1 6'0 and 5'8 Osu was. 6'4 6'1 6' 5'9 and 5'7
They had 6'1 on Pevic. TUDOR was fair match so was Williams and Slocum but where we didn't match up well with was 4 3. Plus their bigs could shoot outside. I see some issues with how we matched up last nite. If Taya was playing or brown would have made a big difference in several ways. Their bigs could guard well with switch offs against guards also. Meaning their bigs were good athletes. Seems like our outside shooters weren't looking for there shots and when we penetrated to kick out for the three point just wasn't there.
