If so, this means Oregon loses 4 of their 5 starters after this season.... They've got a lot of talent waiting their turn to shine.....But no matter who you are it's tough to replace 4 starters....Especially when all 4 of them are All-Conference (if you count defense).... GO BEAVS !! *believeinthebeavs: Got a source? ESPN reported it. So has the go ducks site.

So they lose Sabally, Ionescu, Hebard, and Moore, the first 3 top picks in the WNBA draft. That's an awful lot to replace in one year. Best they relish their current position while they can.

That's an interesting decision. Maybe she's drawn to playing professionally back in Europe too. She'd likely be Pac-12 POY and a possible #1 WNBA pick next year, plus the star on next year's Duck team, had she decided to stay.

I thought that the opportunity to play with her sister one season at Oregon would be the compelling reason for her to stay an extra year. I was wrong.

Then again this might just be a big head fake to her dramatic announcement the decided to change her mind and stay. An announcement has no effect on eligibility unless she hires an agent.

I don't think so. Baseba1111 may be onto something in that Nyara Sabally may opt to leave as well. They had two years together in Eugene and both may be ready to move on. If Nyara stays in Eugene, she will be in a great position to continue to rehab, train, and recover with world class sports physicians and modalities. Will be interesting to see if the younger sister ever competes for the Ducks.

Maybe it had something to do with the January decision to raise the maximum salary to $215,000, up from $117,500 in 2019?

Quote from ESPN:
"I hope they remember me as a part of something great, and as a part of the team that brought home the national championship for the first time," Sabally said. "I'm leaving a great Sabally behind me [Nyara], and she's going to do great things and she's going to carry our name strong. I hope they will see me in her as well, but don't compare her too hard. Because she will have her own journey too."

Boley is also draft-eligible, but won't get picked because she's pretty one-dimensional. One heck of a shooter, though, when she's hot.
We carried on at a high level after the Weisner/Hamblin/Hunter/Hanson class graduated, and after Syd left the following season. It will be very interesting to see how uo does in the future, if they can sustain it. It seems as if they will be stacked at guard (almost overstacked) and very thin up front; Prince and the younger Sabally have potential but a pretty big history of injury. I suspect he'll go the Altman route and take about 3-4 grad transfers.
