Wow! I didn't see that coming in a million years. SC sucks and the Beavs found a way to lose to them. What the he(( is going on with this team?! Rueck is much better than this! I didn't get to see any of the game but simply losing any way to SC is pathetic. this team isn’t the same since Kennedy Brown got injured. I don't doubt that she is a great defender and definitely a shot alterer and blocker due to her size but she didn't provide much offense at all so my personal opinion is that her absence isn't the problem here. Something is amiss with the team. This isn't like a Rueck coached team.

I blame that article boasting us as #1 for jinxing the team!

Yeah, that didn't are well. Sorry, there's just no reason this team with or without KB should lose to SC.

If I had to guess, between 5 to 7. were they legit calls? There is nothing legit about any refereeing crew led by melissa barlow. Seriously a few were but there were several that weren't.

I’m sad, dammit. Just sad. Sad for the kids. For Scott. For the program. For the university. Dammit I feel for Pivec and the other seniors going out on what looks like a death spiral. I'm sure she had higher hopes for her last college season.

This is a very disappointing lost. Had a fast start with 15-0 and within a win from #1 ranked just a month ago. Now all into the tank with more losses coming up against UCLA, Stanford, etc. Taya and KB will be back next Fall. Kennedy won't be back in the fall and might actually be a candidate for a redshirt. I don't think using her at the end of next season does anything for the team. Have to make sure she is completely healthy. It isn't worth taking chances. The word I've heard is Kennedy will redshirt next year....

It is not just the loss of Kennedy. Add in Taya and it gets significant since they both play the same position.
I hope Kennedy does redshirt next year unless she bounces back faster than usual.

Sorry, there's just no reason this team with or without KB should lose to SC. Did you watch the game? No, I was not able to watch the game but I am aware of what SC has done this year, or rather not done. And I have watched and paid close attention to what the Beavs have done this whole year. So, whether I watched the game tonight or not doesn't change the fact that there's no explanation for why we would lose to SC. As I've said already a couple times, if we play our game even without KB, we when this game handily. Something is not right right now with this team.

I would advise against watching the replay. Once was more than enough.

Seeing how Kat returned from her ACL, I hope Kennedy sees that and takes ALL next year off. Question if Kat was really ready to return.

Rough game by Maddie. This was her time with KB out, it's her time to shine, and it didn't go well.
I'm not really sure why Rueck doesn't take the TO issue more seriously, including our lack of forcing TOs them the other way. For years, he's had success making up that difference with shooting % delta as well as rebounding. Unfortunately this team isn't outshooting the opponents in Pac-12 play, and the rebounding advantage often isn't making up for the TO disadvantage either, as it didn't tonight.
I'm half serious that they could have Destiny play James Harden offense and be better off (isolate and let her work her own shot) - it would at least eliminate the TOs from trying to force passes and/or our bigs getting out-quicked. Not what I want to see, just saying that we need to fix that - It's really hard to win games with you have to overcome 10+ fewer possessions every time.
I was much more worried about Onyenwere without KB than Pili... now I'm even moreso.

Aside from not getting equal treatment on the "scrum" balls (we get called for fouls, SC gets the jump ball call). what I mostly see in this wretched stretch of play the last 6 or 7 games is lack of ball movement on offense. Scott mentioned it at halftime - "we need to move the ball better side to side".
What I believe he meant is we, specifically our ball handlers, have gotten in a rut of holding the ball, hesitating, maybe taking a dribble or two, and then passing, or, so often, bailing out with a short pass to the ball screener, and then getting a short return hand off which results in "nothing". Defense isn't' forced to move, adjust, recover or nothing.
Consequently, our dead eye markswomen three point shooters are not getting the usual wide open, feet set looks. We are rushing shots at the end of the shot clock.
Plus, the defenses we're facing are smelling blood in the water, when we throw the ball to the low post to Taylor, they're doubling and aggressively going after the ball. TJ has to recognize the double team and kick out to a shooter and as she progresses through her career, she needs to get stronger so she can rip through the DT and get to the basket.
