The games against USC and UCLA take place on Friday and Monday, respectively.
Maddie Washington collected 11 boards against Arizona. I would expect her to get the start at the 4 position against USC. She will likely match up with USC's strong frosh Pili.
Looking forward to seeing Morris put her best foot forward in LA. She will likely be expected to play more minutes as this team adjusts to the loss of Kennedy Brown to injury.

I think that Friday if we get ahead Rueck might play the bench as much as possible.
Good - we get an extra day to get ready for ucla Bad - one less day to get ready for stanford

Stanford has been inconsistent this season too. They have let several "lesser" teams play tight games - going to overtime with a few too. I think if the team plays with GRIT they can topple four opponents on this double road trip.
Go BEAVS.

USC doesn't have great height in their starters. Maddie should do fine against them. Really up to whether the guards do their thing or not I think.

Maddie is going to have to be ready to really battle in the paint, as is Jones. Pili and Overbeck would make a pretty good tag team in the WWE.

Taylor will have her hands full guarding her.

My guess is that Maddie may get the defensive assignment against Pili at the 4 position with Taylor covering Overbeck at the 5 position. Overbeck is an inch taller than Pili.

She's had a good freshman year, but I really think she is going to struggle this weekend if we guard her with Trish or Taylor. In her 3 previous games against teams with front court size, (Arizona x 2) Stanford. She's not shot better than 50% from the field in any of the games, and averaged 5 rebounds. Her best game of those 3 was an 8-17 showing against Arizona. She was 3-12 against Stanford last week. If she get's matched up with Maddie, that's when I think we will have issues. However, I think we will see a ton of zone. SC shoots 28% from 3 as a team.

Gotta get some big offensive production from someone Friday to beat USC on the road.....Basically, this means Slocum, Goodman or Jones need to deliver impressive numbers...Hopefully, Tudor will find her shot...Wherever it went, she's having real trouble locating it.....
Personally, I'm not the least bit confident about this game.....Hope it's just me......
Scouting opponents for 30 years has instilled in me an appreciation of opposition strengths, and in SC I see quite a few strengths that can cause the Beavs problems....Their free-wheelin' guards can score - especially India Rogers the 5* frosh, and Aliyah Jeune the Grad transfer - but they don't aways do it. They're spotty but when they are both scoring they're tough, very tough....
I think our biggest match up advantage in this game is Rueck vs. Trakh...
I'm 100% behind the Beavs, but I'm worried about where the points are going to come from....Maybe Maddie & Trish will deliver big time.... GO BEAVS !!

Maybe I've got my orange colored glasses on too tight, but I'm trying to remember ANY guards this year that had great games against the Beavs and the only one I can think of is the first quarter for Moore of Utah. Small forwards like Ryan of ASU and the gal for Missouri St has given us issues, but I think we defend guards well for the most part. As for the scoring, we've had issues against Asu, Zona, Stanford, Oregon. The top defensive teams in the league. We've never had a team within 10 for the final score that wasn't in the top 20. I understanding expecting a fight, and wanting to prepare for what might happen, but I see no reason to expect this team not to win on Friday, no KB or not.

One guard dominated and it could have been worse with some wide open misses. Without looking back in detail, the Morris kid from DePaul had 28 or 29 as G/W. Missouri State kid, think she was a Guard, had 20+. Williams for Furd had a 17 point night. Quick guards have hurt OSU consistently for several seasons... scoring, steals, drawing and dishing.

We have 13 on scholly and one walk on . We currently cannot play Andrea,Jelena, Taya or Kennedy. (?all of our bigs except for Patricia ) That gives us 10 girls that can hit the floor Mik Destiny Taylor Kat Aleah Maddie Janessa Jazz Mannen Morris The chance of winning with such reduced depth has taken a big hit. More minutes for the starters ,and effective minutes from the reserves will be essential I hope we can pull it off ( wins in remaining games )

I did, I saw the conference's leading scorer need 23 shots to score 21 points. And that is with her shooting better than her season average from 3. Just like I watched her go 6-21 the last time she played OSU. THe Missouri St kid was a 6'1 small forward, same as the gal from Cal we had trouble stopping. Small forwards scare me. Guards offensively don't. And DePaul is a 5 guard lineup that scores 80 a game, someone is always going to get points there. Quick guards have given us a lot of problems defensively, that I understand. However this year is the team has someone with the strength to match up on Mik that seems to really slow us down. Ryan from ASU just eats her up. I appreciate the points of view, but I just don't see us struggling defensively against USC.
