Welp - here’s to her pulling a Megan Rapinoe in terms of recovery success! (Megan has torn her left ACL twice and her right once, and still went on to be world class for many years)
I also hope Rueck stops holding scholarship cards in his pocket ... having kids transfer to get playing time is better than having positions thin from you injury attrition. Maybe he’s not actually doing that, he’s just not getting all the players he wants to sign, and isn’t going to waste them in on a riskier fit.
Here’s also hoping Kennedy utilizes her recovery and limited mobility time to work on her post game and shooting touch around the basket - she didn’t see herself as that type of player out of HS, but she’s had an abundance of 0-fer games from beyond the arch, and IMO she needs to rethink her vision on what she can be the most successful at. I’d love for her to decide a LaMarcus Aldridge-type shooting chart is her best contribution approach (of course this being because I think it is)

We may be overthinking the 'not enough recruiting of players' at the 3/4 positions. Look at the bench and you see Taya, and Andrea, who both most likely would be 4's, and Jelena who would be a five so Taylor could possibly be that 4 as well. It's a bit unusal for any program to have so many injuries at the same floor spot/spots. Personally, after seeing the recovery of Kat, who has worked like crazy, I think Kennedy should sit all of next season and redshirt. That definitely leaves your front court slim, but still gives you Trish and Jelena, along with Taylor and Taya. That's probably enough, but signing a grad transfer for the 4 or 5 would probably be good.
Your 3 spot next year looks to be Jazz, Sasha, and Savannah at this point with Destiny and Aleah at guard. If anything, it looks like the 1 to 3 spots could use another player or two as well. Grad transfer still sounds like best solution at this point.
It probably won't play a role in recruiting, but the 2021's (Payton, Greta, etc) may actually see this as an opportunity to play an extra year with Kennedy.
Anyway, my best wishes to Kennedy for a speedy and complete recovery. She's a great addition to the OSU program and I'm thrilled she chose the Beavs!

I'm sure Janessa will get more time, but she doesn't bring much offensively. That's not gonna change with 6 games left in her senior year. The key to any success going forward is Trish.

Well... it's obviously not great for JB. But, folks need to remember OSU isn't having to replace a huge statistical slot... basically 7 and 7. There is the defensive presence and 3 pt threat (although teams weren't really going to respect that over other shooters), but OSU should easily be able to make up 7 and 7 between the other starters and 3 subs. Again, can the team focus and be mentally stronger, confident, and play with unity thru adversity. If so that "stats" will come.

Granted Janessa hasn't taken many shots in her career but she has made most of them. In shoot around she shows that she can hit shots out over the arc. At the beginning of the season Rueck commented that Janessa was finally going to see some time at the wing, her natural position. Trish can relieve Taylor but neither are a high post. We are definitely going to need her to fill in since Maddie is going to see some work at the 4. That's it! All of our bigs and they include a 6'1" and 6'2"! Hard to see the bench include 6'9", 6'9", 6'6", and 6'3".

Methinks you are significantly underselling KB’s defensive impact - especially in certain matchups. For instance, now there is nobody on the roster available to play that I have any confidence in to slow Onyenwere - and additionally, probably our next best option is Taylor but this really risks getting her in foul trouble, creating problems for us on both ends. But I like your optimism, and hope I’m way wrong!

After her injury and all thru the Zona game OSU played great team defense. The defense will not be the issue, scoring will. Furd and UCLA weren't probable Ws with KB. Tougher now, but this team should finish 4-2 or better.

I agree our single biggest issue is single-digit offensive output quarters in all of our losses pretty much. We really need to start scoring in the 70s again.

She is very reluctant to shoot, and passes up open looks from good positions on the floor. Once again, that's not going to change over the next 3 weeks.

Janessa was at 60% last year before she broke her thumb.

Are you forgetting Taya Corosdale at the 3 and Kennedy at the 4? No, that post was regarding the possibility of Kennedy red shirting next year due to recovery time. Depending on how the other 'bigs' do, Taya may be able to give a few minutes at the 3, but i would most likely expect Taya and Taylor at 4-5, with Trish and Jelena as backups. Taya could probably give you some minutes at 3 against the right opponents, but I would still expect one of the other true wing/guard types to be the 3.

Here is one other EXTREMELY long term and maybe crazy thought, but KB's little sister is a freshman and high school and also a high level prospect. If she did red shirt next year, that would open up the possibility of her playing her senior year with her sister as a freshman. Long way off and a lot of what ifs, but an interesting thought.
