Man this freakin sucks. Kat, Taya, Jelena, and Andrea for the second season. She won’t get a medical redshirt since Kat didn’t. So she’s out for a lot of next year for rehab also. Two players at the same position, both of whom are big loses. CRAP!!!🤬

More bad news. Best wishes to Kennedy during her recovery and rehab.

Tough loss, and I feel badly for Kennedy Brown. Maddie had a very fine rebounding game against Arizona, but depth for bigs is now a little dire.

No doubt about it Her number is gonna get called. She may surprise us. And herself.

Hate injuries - Kennedy , we all feel for you and wish you all the best through your surgery on to your rehab process and then back onto the court. Go Beavers - Go Kennedy ! I read 4-6 months ( average ), 9 months in some cases. She will come back and have an immediate impact !

No doubt about it Her number is gonna get called. She may surprise us. And herself. I hope she does. She will get more minutes. She plays the 5 position, the same position as Taylor. The 4 in OSU's system needs to be able to pass effectively. Morris hasn't been asked to pass much during her OSU career to date. Another unlikely option is to put in some offensive schemes for two 5 position players and play both Jones and Morris at the same time.

She has the closest physical skill set needed to play the 4 in the offense, and has taken and hit some 3s this year. If she can rebound effectively it would be fantastic.

Janessa is a senior, I expect she will step up. The 4 will be played by committee. Maddie, Janessa, and Mik will all find time there. We will also play a 4 guard plus post.
It is going to be tough for the rest of the season that is for sure.
Not sure where you read 4 - 6 month recovery, even 9 months is short. The surgeon that did my knee said it is essentially a year long recovery and that matches up within what I've seen with athletes who treat their acl. Personally I think that ncaa should grant an automatic redshirt year to a player that tears their acl, as it offs players are forced into trying to come back before they are 100%. Kat is a perfect example of the time frame for recovery.
Edit. I found sites that list the 4-6 month recovery but that is for regular people. Athletes are listed as taking 8 - 12 months for complete recovery.

Unfortunately, ACL injuries are far more likely in women athletes because of muscle physiology. Unfortunate too for KB as rehab is likely to cost her most of next season as well. Major bummer.

There is absolutely no reason for her to rush back and try to play in January (9-10 month) or 10 games (11-12 month) or so next season. She is a Frosh... get 120% healthy and have a solid 3 years. Come back early and you risk never being at 100%, reinjury, and not playing like you want to play the last years of your career. This news also puts a bit of pressure on recruiting. SR needs to fill the roster with a transfer, someone with experience that can play the 4 or swing from the the 3 to the 4!

Possible tin foil hat question. That is like the 3rd acl injury on that end of the court I believe a Stanford player went down on that end. Is the surface of the court contributing to this or is it just coincidence and part of the modern game now.

Although, that wouldn’t explain our men’s team beating them
