I helpfully found a link where you can contact the Senior CLASS Award staff: www.seniorclassaward.com/contact/I sent them a link to the video, and pointed out that SR seems to be spot on, in asking them to please clarify their "criminal" thought process that led to such a miss...... Others in this forum could also send the interview video link and ask the CLASS staff WTF?Might not make a difference, but I think they should be made aware of how lame they are, and how their award has little to no credibility if someone so deserving isn't part of the finalist pool. Go Beavers! I sent the following message to the Senior Class Award: "Very disappointed to see Mikayla Pivec from Oregon State was omitted from the list of finalists for your award. She excels in every component of your award criteria. The most exceptional thing about Mikayla is that her commitment to Community, Classroom, Character and Competition is internal, and not for the sake of awards. But your organization missed a huge opportunity in not recognizing and associating with a young woman who exemplifies all your stated goals. And it diminishes the prestige of your award in my eyes." |

Their qualifications are that they have or are going to graduate and they sign autographs. The comparison is laughable. A summary of a recent Sabrina Ionescu post game interview: "I, me, I, I, Kobe, I, triple-double, me, me." I flipped by the UA/UO game last night. Ducks up by 30+ in the 4th qtr. Sabrina still in the game. I sure hope the stat chasing catches up with Graves next year. A prime opportunity for a bench player to get quality minutes and he’s still got his starters in there. He’s lucky she didn’t pick up an injury. |

I shot a quick, respectful, and pointed email to the committee too. In short, and without a hint of hyperbole, I can’t imagine a better resume for that award.

The award is a joke. They’ve proved it by their obviously flawed selection process.
They’re not going to add Pivec. Screw em.

I will bet those that made the final decisions said you know this pivec person is truly deserving but we can't have three people on the list from the university of oregon.

I had a wild idea at the game last night- what if we somehow printed our own Mik Jerseys (no help from N!KE). Have a screen printer (or even iron on style) in the lobby printing on demand. Fans could choose which ever player number they wanted, Gill would be filled with Orange jerseys. Somehow the athletics department created and handed out free FAMILY t-shirts, let's get them on the jersey wagon.
The passion in Scott's reading is fantastic. Just about every interview I've seen/heard with Mik where she is asked "So how awesome are you that you made some kind of fantastic shot...", she replies with "My team set that play up, I did what my team needed, Kat... Aleaha..., Maddie, ...Taylor...." Love Mik!!
Anyone know a screen printer?? Let's do this! GO BEAVS!!

I'm sure that if i did half as much community service as Mik we would hear about it every game. At their rebounders meetings they go into what the players are doing off the court. Ok... so you don't. Hence don't know crap except Mik was left off. Travesty? Outrage? Mik's service to the community isn't diminished because she's not a finalist. She doesn't do it to receive credit. Question the selection process, cool. But, to disparage (with unknowing, made up BS) other finalists is a 180 from what Mik stands for. Those girls didn't choose themselves. So, speak of classless. At least the posters who stated they sent emails focused on the how and not the who. |

Ionesco (sic) consistently takes time after games, win or lose, to sign autographs and spend time with all of the young fans who look up to her. She is a huge presence in the Eugene community and one of the biggest role models UO athletics has ever seen.
She made sure to thank Oregon fans in her Player’s Tribune article: “to our UNBELIEVABLE FANS who, honestly — y’all have no idea.”So Sabrina’s listed community involvement is that she signs autographs for free (imagine what those will be worth some day!) EVEN WHEN SHE LOSES (how selfless!) and provides a role model just by being Sabrina. And she says nice things about her fans. Wow! |

Did you read the Community section of the two duck biographies? Not to disparage the two gals, but compared to the service Pivec has performed, it’s a complete joke.
