Looks like the Beavs have officially hit crunch time this weekend....
Looking at 6-4 after their first 10 Pac games doesn't leave any room for error if they are going to get a 3rd place finish this year.
3rd place is important because the Tournament will pair 1-4 and 2-3 teams if everyone wins as ranked. (I know, doesn't always work that way - ask the Beavs about last year). And I think Stanford will be a better draw for us than Oregon.
Back to do or die. The Beavs need to come out of the weekend at 8-4 and plop the Arizona schools to 7-5 & 6-6. Then it will, in large measure, boil down to the UCLA game on the 17th....To me it looks like UCLA is more likely to lose a sleeper game between now and the Tourney than the Beavs - at least that's what I'm hopin' for....
We need two. So, let's get business done this weekend...A sweep is certainly possible, and at Gill, probable.
The Arizona schools will be a handful - I think both schools are playing at a high level....But I'd rather be the Beavs waiting at Gill than the Sun Devils and Wildcats travelling to Gill.....

Let's do this! I will be there to hopefully witness two quality performances by a team that has much yet to prove and much to play for. I really think that this year's squad has the potential to outdo the Sweet Sixteen achievement of last year's team. The two frosh bigs bring an inside presence that we didn't have last season. And they are growing more experienced with each passing weekend.

I will be amazed if both Arizona schools aren't swept this weekend. This is the toughest road trip in the game.

Defintely an advantage for both Oregon Universities to have dominant WBB programs right now - saw one analyst on a national women's basketball website describing the road trip to Corvallis and Eugene as "by far the most daunting in the nation". |

Arizona has been playing at a pretty high level lately. They've beaten Arizona State twice, and demolished UCLA in their last meeting. With the ducks coming off a big victory over UCONN, I'll give Arizona a slight chance to pull off a big victory in Eugene. I'll also give Arizona even better odds of beating the Beavs. The Beavs are a better team, but McDonald, Reece, and company can win if things go right for them.
I don't think Arizona State will surprise either team this time around. They play tough d, and always give the Beavs a game, but I'm going wih the Beavs in that game. I'm hopefull, but worried about the Arizona game.

We were 2-20 on 3 point shots last game with them. Both by Destiny. If we had 3 more, 5-20 we would have won.
