Who will guard mcdonald or will we do zone. Guy wish we had corsdale, at the top ina 1-3-1 In man-to-man, it will likely be Slocum with Pivec also getting some time trying to stay in front of her. Rueck will mix in some zone to keep Arizona guessing. Beavs have been effective so far in limiting McDonald by making her shoot further out than she prefers and not putting her on the line with fouls.

I think it says more about the poster than it does about OSU WBB. All my post implied was the team was going to get their revenge on asu. Not sure where you're getting at. Thanks for the translation.

F the treys. Take the ball to the rack. Lay ups or fouls. Plus it opens up the 12-15 footers.

Are you ready for tonight? #3 oregon vs #12 Arizona #10 UCLA vs #6 Stanford #9 Oregon St vs #19 Arizona St.
It's really going to be interesting to see what the Pac12 standings look like come Monday. Expected winners tonight...Stanford...Oregon State...and...and...and..ok, Oregon, but I think Arizona has a shot in this one.
The Oregon State/Arizona State is probably going to be a boring game if you like good offense. Both teams play good d, and disrupt game flow. Probably a lot of fouls. I don't think it will necessarily be a 'fun' game to watch, but if the Beavs come out on top, it will be fun enough.
I fully expect Stanford will win by a healthy margin, but I don't think they will give UCLA the beat down Arizona gave them.
There's a real shot that the best game, and most entertaining game tonight is oregon versus Arizona. oregon has a ton more talent (and experience) but will they show any signs of a let down after the UCONN game. I'm going to say 'no'...but maybe.
Despite my predicted winners, I won't be at all surprised by an upset (or two) tonight. I just hope it's not the Beavs!
Go Beavs!

I like this summary. I actually like defensive games although I have to admit I do not always understand what is going on. For example if someone blows a defensive assignment, unbeknown to me, it is usually the defensive player who has to compensate who looks like an idiot, sometimes with a dumb foul. Somebody posted that the Beavers should rotate players more and worry less about fouling against Arizona State.

Looks like the Beavs have officially hit crunch time this weekend.... Looking at 6-4 after their first 10 Pac games doesn't leave any room for error if they are going to get a 3rd place finish this year. 3rd place is important because the Tournament will pair 1-4 and 2-3 teams if everyone wins as ranked. (I know, doesn't always work that way - ask the Beavs about last year). And I think Stanford will be a better draw for us than Oregon. Back to do or die. The Beavs need to come out of the weekend at 8-4 and plop the Arizona schools to 7-5 & 6-6. Then it will, in large measure, boil down to the UCLA game on the 17th....To me it looks like UCLA is more likely to lose a sleeper game between now and the Tourney than the Beavs - at least that's what I'm hopin' for.... We need two. So, let's get business done this weekend...A sweep is certainly possible, and at Gill, probable. The Arizona schools will be a handful - I think both schools are playing at a high level....But I'd rather be the Beavs waiting at Gill than the Sun Devils and Wildcats travelling to Gill..... GO BEAVS !! I'll be plenty happy if the Beavs come out of the weekend 8-4 and the Arizona schools "plop" to 8-4 & 7-5.

Hopefully you didn't put any money on these games. Stanford lost by double digits and the Ducks managed to squeak out a 33 point win.

Kennedy Brown plays a lot of minutes in spite of some shooting issues, partly because of her excellent defense. In addition she is the second best rebounder, just behind Mik. Presumably, her possible absence tomorrow would make it much more difficult tomorrow against Arizona? Any predictions if she does not play? If your prediction turns out to be wrong, I will not make a big deal about.

I really hope Kennedy Brown is better soon she gives us a whole other dimension to our defense but as far as playing Arizona I think we actually match up better with a 4 guard 1 Post lineup. They're not an overly aggressive rebounding team so it shouldn't hurt us too bad plus they really have a 3 forward line up that's not that tall. We shoot well we win.

Thomas and McBryde for Arizona are long, they both play bigger than their listed height. One or two of OSU's guards would have their hands full matching up w/ them in a 4 guard lineup. Goodman is just getting back into a groove coming off the bench, not sure if you want to mess with that. I'd think start Washington and one of Morris or Thropay is going to have to give at least a few quality minutes of relief.

Neither average even 4 rebounds a game. Not playing big imho. Agree with you we need seniors to step up at forward. 4 guards could also include jaz in rotation.

Okay, those rebound numbers are puny. Neither are big scorers either. They are often defending a larger player and seem to hang in there in the interior. Thomas in particular seems to block shots, tip passes or get steals with her long arms. Both are versatile players who manage to have a positive impact while not putting up big stats. Arizona plays stingy defense, those 2 are both a key part of that.
