The Beavs will be guarding against the three-pointer today, attempting to make Maxwell and Torres dribble into contested midrange jumpers and avoiding putting the Utes on the free throw line by fouling the jumpshooter.
Would like to see Taylor Jones receive some more looks inside today so that her hard work on the blocks and in the paint gets rewarded with more than the three shots she took on Friday.

Shooting 10/12 from distance over two games is not sustainable, but does bode well for Goodman going forward. I would gladly take 2/5 or better from her game after game. Have to avoid the 0-fers and be prepared to take some two-pointers to keep opposing defenses honest.
The team needs to continue to drive, test the Utah interior defense, and not settle for 25+ three-point attempts today. Use the three-pointer to soften opposing defenses rather than live or die by it. Slocum and Pivec need to be in attack mode and keep their dribble active and alive when doing so.

And... it's 3-6/10-10 Utah... should be no way this is not a double digit win if this team is going to jump into contention. If OSU is going to get into a three pt contest and Utah gets hot (odds are highly likely OSU doesn't shoot like they did vs Buffs two straight) it could be trouble. OSU needs to make it a physical inside out game, not a finesse up and down game and get into the bad habit of going behind screens to give open looks. |
