Sabrina has pushed away her teammate (Oti Gildon) in frustration during a game. Pivec's frustrations seem to be focused on battles with players on opposing teams. And there you go. Crappy sportsmanship is OK when it’s our player and it’s directed at the opposition. Thanks for proving my point. How many times have you seen Pivec offer a hand to help up an opponent who is on the ground? Nearly every game. Pivec's actions against ASU and Stanford appear to be to have been intended to protect herself when the officials opted not to. If you have ever played basketball at a high level, you know how physical a game it is and that you have to be ready to protect yourself at all times from a physical beating. Women's college basketball is no different in that respect.

Come on. Didn’t know we were playing the Cobra Kai

On Senior day with Gildon's folks in attendance. You really shouldn't set me up like that, WB. Was Sabrina singing, "California, Here I Come," to her as she was pushing her away on her senior day?

I think Pivec was frustrated by the fact the refs let the players play. Pivec got roughed up pretty good throughout the game. I remember a play in the first half where Pivec drove to the hoop and got bumped by a Stanford player and didn't get the call. Should have been a foul on the Stanford player and it didn't happen. Beavers need to learn how to play and succeed when the refs allow rough play throughout the game. Pivec wasn't the only player to get beat up at times during the game. Two rough games two losses. The coaches need to figure out how to get the players to succeed in that type of ball game. Now, that being said, the team didn't get blown out in either game. It seems they were never in control in both games even though they were ahead in the Stanford game and stayed in touch in the ASU game.

I want to be an NCAA Women's Division 1 basketball referee when I grow up. Sounds like a rewarding career, where you can make a difference in so many people's eyes.

Well, personally, I think shoving a teammate is much worse than doing the same to an opponent in retaliation. Old school I guess.

Yes, only on this board. Because on no other board do the fans complain about the refs 🤣

Yes, only on this board. Because on no other board do the fans complain about the refs 🤣 A bit slow on the draw... sarcasm... officials... "make a difference"... no mention of other boards or what they may say. Yikes. And, who cares about what other boards say or do? Oh yeah... a few on this board are addicted to at least one other. But, of course they go read, then come back 'home' to disparage them.

What is the story behind Sabrina and "California, Here I Come"?

I predicted a few pages back that this thread would not end well and go off the rails.

This board will go off either way. The ridiculous hate for an in-state rival and the best player in the country will be fodder for 100s of posts... win or lose.

In-state player? I though she was from California. My bad.
