Someone currently in first is going to have two losses in the Pac-12 standings on Sunday night with the current log jam at the top. Stanford at 0-2 leaving the Willamette valley will put them at a serious disadvantage to win the conference even at this stage of the season. Not impossible by any means but this is a tough conference with no room for error. Going to be a stressful but fun ride for the fans.
Thanks USC for making it interesting beating UCLA.

Thanks USC for making it interesting beating UCLA. It may be stressful but in a good way. We are right in the mix for a high seed in the tournament because we have great players and a terrific coaching staff. We could end up third in the conference, and be in the top 10 in the country with a chance to advance far in the tournament. I don't think our players are scared to go on the road in the post season if need be. Enjoy this ride...these ladies are fun to watch play, and seem to really enjoy playing for each other...a true team. It's gonna be fun...

SR played 10 players last night, great time to see what the whole team can offer. The press conference link in the Cal thread might answer some more of your questions about play time. Go Beavs!

I think that if the PAC 12 is really as tough, top to bottom, as everyone says - then I think the losses at the top will be closer to 4-5. It's very tough to win on the road .

I think that 11 Beavs played last night as Thropay got some run in the fourth quarter. Pivec played 20 minutes and Goodman played 18 last night.

Thanks for the info....I watched the 2nd quarter only and the TV commentators seemed quite perplexed that Pivec was sitting not playing... Personally, I'm relieved to hear it was nothing that might carry over to Sunday. GO BEAVS !!

I can't see Oregon losing 4 or 5 conference games this season...It could happen, of course, but I just don't see it... Depending on tomorrow's outcome it's very likely that Stanford won't lose 4 or 5 conference games either.... The mathematics of the season are already in full play, and if the Beavs lose tomorrow the odds increase dramatically that they will be looking at a 5 or 6 loss season.... Anyone can make a prediction, of course, so that's what it is..... But to my eye Oregon and Stanford are the two best teams in the Pac and it's going to be tough for anyone else to beat them.....Someone likely will.....But at the end of the season neither of them will be looking at 4 or 5 conference losses... I'm still hopin' and cheerin' for the Bears - as always....I've got tickets for the Pac 12 tourney....But that's how I see it. GO BEAVS !!

If Stanford plays UCLA twice,Oregon once, and osu twice,Arizona and ASU, I suspect they will lose 2-3 games of that stretch. Don't expect them to lose to Cal,UW,Utah,WSU or Colorado. We have 6 teams that have been in the top 25 in the country from the Pac-12. It's hard to be up for every game...

I certainly didn't expect them to play like they did in Tempe, but tomorrow is a BIG deal for many reasons. OSU can't afford to lose home games PERIOD. Furd x 2, Oregon x 2, @ucla could easily be 3, 4, 5 losses OR 3, 4, 5 wins (just not as easily). The Cal game has zero bearing to me as a barometer of our depth. The Zona and ASU games are much more accurate of the talent/depth of our roster vs equally talented opponents. To me that is the worrisome part of facing Furd and Oregon in three straight games. 16-1 in done, over, in the rearview mirror and means little going forward. This team was always going to the dance and it is the remaining schedule that determines seeding for the Pac12 and NCAA. 16-2 is awesome, so is 16-4... overall. But, 4-4 or 5-3 in Pac12 play after next weekend puts this teams in must win situations. To a mention above... the Pac12 is tough, but in no way will it have (4) seeds at #1 or #2 after the carnage of Pac12 play... more than likely a #1, maybe (2) at #2, but guessing it'll be... #1, #2, then prob a #3/#4 or #5. OSU, ucks, Furd, UCLA... one of those is going to end with 5-6 losses. IF a team happens to go 17-1, there could be three teams with 4+ losses. To me if Furd can split the Oregon trip they have the advantage with key games at home (ucks, OSU, UCLA), then finishing in the desert.

We're very, very hard to beat at home - over the last 2 plus seasons, we're 39-3 at Gill during the regular season. Plus, we're a very talented, well coached team. Why are all you doom & gloomers talking about how difficult it's going to be for us to beat Stanford? How about addressing how difficult it's going to be for Stanford to beat us?
Tomorrow will be win number 100 for this year's senior class.

They have been inconsistent and some of their wins have been as ugly as some of ours. We need to make sure that we fill the stands and be ready to support our girls from the initial tip. Home court advantage does help.

Fan belief is nice, stats can be found to support most viewpoints.
Furd lost back to back as recently as last season... @ #21 Utah, @cal (then beat Cal by 25 two nights later).
But, they handled OSU at home by 17, allowing only 44 pts. Then got routed by 40, 88-48, by the ucks!
Furd is young and hasn't clicked on all cylinders yet. But, they are deep, talented, and seem to fancy our style of play vs the extreme up tempo of the ucks.
OSU just doesn't score vs Furd. Even in our Ws it is a game in the 50s, maybe low 60s. I remember 1 win in the past 4-5 years where OSU scored 72 and that was a 2OT game.
It'll prob be a similar battle, mid 50s to low 60s.
