Man, there's a lot of negativity on this board in the last 24 hours, and an abundance of criticism. We lost 1 game folks! BFD. Were you thinking we should go undefeated? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any women's team in the PAC 12, 10, or 8 has ever done that, and the last conference men's team to do it was UCLA in 1973 - almost half a century ago.
Let's get back to reality, shall we?

They have 8 more 17-1 seasons! 15 seasons with 8 league losses!! I think for the men it was the year I graduated, 77-78 for UCLA @14-0.

I meant undefeated for the entire season, including the NCAA tournament. Connecticut has done it recently on the women's side. Last men's team to do it was Indiana in 1976.

Slocom has limitations she is good but it not unselfish she forces stuff without a clear vision of the court. Kinda me first but not a bad addition. But limited. They might try Jasmine at point she is fast and could break down a press then turn the ball over to half court set up person. Got to go with natural speed sometimes over your best shooters.

That would not be fair to Jasmine at this stage of her development. Dribbling to create space/separation and when closely guarded is a skill that she continues to work on. Asking her to break the press and initiate the offense wouldn't be a good match for her current skill set.
All players have limitations that some fans will point to following painful losses. I think that all of the other 11 PAC-12 teams would be happy to have Slocum on their squad. Easy for us to find fault with a player(s) following a disappointing loss. In order for OSU to go deep into the NCAA to tournament in March and April, the play of Slocum will be vital. Simmons can help provide depth, but Slocum's play will go a long way to determining how successful this season turns out to be.

Eight players played for the Beavs against ASU, with Simmons only logging 2 minutes and taking one shot with no other statistics.
A total of 8 active players (not including the injured Corosdale) average at least 11.8 minutes per game this season. Close PAC-12 games will likely result in a tight rotation of 7-8 players for the Beavs. I predict a lot of close games again for the Beavs this season in PAC-12 play. For Simmons to earn more minutes going forward, she will need to be productive in the minutes she is given on the court. Gathering some rebounds, taking a charge, and playing solid defense are among the little things that she needs to do to earn more playing time and the trust of her coaches.

That and hitting a few outside shots..... The game comes down to putting the ball in the hoop. Make 1 or 2 more outside 3 point shots and blow 1 or 2 less layups, and OSU wins. End of story.

Simmons needs to work on her passing both accuracy and telegraphing it is coming. It is obvious that she has worked on her shot from last year. Next year she will get her minutes and I look forward to seeing how she has improved her game.

We may see Jelena this weekend..... Is that speculation, or, is there something more behind your comment?

Sources close to the team have indicated that Jelena is participating in more and more drills in practices, so there may be something to what has been posted above. Coach Rueck has previously indicated that he expected that Jelena would play at some point this season.
If Jelena is able to play soon, it is important for all of us fans to keep our expectations realistic. Any contributions that Jelena is able to provide with respect to shot altering, rebounding, and an inside presence will be a plus. One has to walk before you can run.

As I said in another thread, I think that she will get time against Cal. Makes sense because it is the game in the remainder of January that will likely put the least pressure on her. Besides, she just had her birthday celebration. I would bet that playing time would be her most-appreciated gift!
