I took a look at my DVR of today's game in an attempt to determine what went on with the Pivec/Ryan altercation with about 2:09 left to play.
After Slocum had tied the game at 45 with a three-pointer with 2:40 left to play, Pivec got knocked down by Tapley at the beginning of the ASU possession and was later tripped by the left foot of Kiara Russell as Russell set her screen at about 2:20. I watched the replay a number of times to see if Russell purposely moved her left foot to trip Pivec to the ground as Pivec was attempting to go over the screen and chase Ryan. It appears that Russell did so to clip Pivec, allowing room for Ryan to drive down the lane to score on a reverse layup to give ASU a 47-45 lead. ASU has a history of screening illegally. Few of those screens actually get called as fouls. To me, Russell appears to move her left foot to trip Pivec.
If any of you can access a replay of the game, take a look at that Russell/Pivec trip and see if you see Russell's left foot move to trip Pivec. I wondered why Pivec had gone down in a heap trying to go around that screen.
By the time that Pivec was able to get up from that trip, Ryan had driven down the lane to give her team a two-point lead. As Pivec tried to clear her cobwebs, that is when Ryan was there to bump her the first time as Pivec attempted to jog up the court. Pivec then pushed Ryan off of her and the two players received fouls.

) And for crying out loud can we get off the blame the refs for everything we do bad! We were s%#tE the refs had nothing to do with that, smart teams play to the refs!
