This was bound to happen sooner or later. We have been shooting like crap for several weeks now and its not just the 3's. Reminds me of the end of last season when we couldn't hit anything except this year we have Kat, but she has been off too.

This season's gotten old quick it's time to fire Scott Rueck. What? It's what we do after every other OSU team loses. EXCEPT... Not on the WBB... it's officiating. SR is never mentioned. 1) officiating 2) certain players... lauded earlier... are no longer good enough for an top 10 team. But, rarely mention when certain players stink it up?! 3) other team... lucky etc Experienced players were 10-39 if I'm looking at the box correctly. Frosh 7-15... TJ 5-8. Seems an inside game needs more touches if others aren't producing?

Can't live by the 3. We seem to have a very uneven fan base with that aspect. Think OSU is all that, yet surprised when it disappears. It just could be the predicted 5th and 6th place Pac12 teams are better than anyone OSU faced on the road... or at home. I never saw where they were getting OSU's NC SOS?! Plus... as many stated early on, this OSU team has holes with youth in key spots and highly dependent on the perimeter game. Not a great combo. But, as the undefeated streak continued those factors seem to be forgotten or ignored. The Pac12 is far better than OSU's NC schedule. Our frosh basically didn't play this level of competition with this intensity. However this trip ends it'll be a huge learning experience and helpful for later on. I predicted a double digit win, but never saw OSU playing this poorly... even agaisnt a good D. That has been my one thing that bugs me about Ruecks teams. They rely way too much on the three ball. When they aren't going down things go awry or they hang on by the skin of their teeth. That and the they are careless with the ball at times during games. I don't expect them to win every game. That is too hard and it was just a matter of time before they lost. Although, you don't give yourself a chance to win close games by throwing up threes when they aren't going down. With the bigs down low, you would think they would be more efficient with shot selection.

Record aside, I've been concerned about the way OSU has been playing most of the season. Surely more losses are coming soon. So now you're mentioning? I think I've been mentioning some concerns. The 3 point shooting and Goodman's lack of production.

ASU brings a level of physicality that is difficult to understand until you compete against them. Proud of the squad for battling back to tie it up in the fourth quarter. We can't shoot 2/20 beyond the arc and beat quality teams, especially on the road in the PAC-12.

Couldn’t put the ball in the ocean in the first half. We will learn from this. On to Cal...

Our offensive play has been qinconsistant for a long time. We stand around, poor spacing. Maybe we need to uptempo and become a pressure typed team like Miller’s and Wooden team . Hard to watch such poor offense with teams like ASU.. Do not understand why it needs to be this way. Cannot win when You are unable to get easy baskets. Point play has been poor as well. I like Scott, but he needs to look at things.

4 straight losses to ASU. When do they get to skip the trip to Tempe? Hopefully soon. There are better teams in the Pac 12, but I think this is the match up I really don't look forward to more than any other.

The Sun Devils defeated the ucks for a reason, and we see why. Should we be surprised with this loss? The Beavers will beat the Sun Devils in Corvallis.

I think Tara and The realtor have figured How to play Rueck offense. Tara alluded to that (my interpretation) a few years ago.

Well, an L was bound to happen sooner or later, now - what can we learn from this game? First, I dislike CTT considerably. She works the refs constantly like they were......well, let's just leave that thought right there. My dislike of CTT aside, she has figured out OSU's Achille's heel - rough the game up as much as the refs will allow (at which point her constant working of refs is an advantage as well), and get the basketball-wise aesthetically less-than-pleasing W. Louisville has used the same approach, with same result. We play so "clean", this kind of play just isn't our cup of tea. We will need to figure it out. Didn't help we came out tight. Real tight - go back and watch the opening seconds (prior to tip off) of the UA game, and then this one. At UA, SR is smiling, all the players are smiling.....this game, even SR looks strained. And then the trend - our 3 ball has been in a dangerous downward trend for several games. Aleah was the first to show it, but at this point everyone on the team seems to have lost confidence in the 3 ball. DS was very tentative early, and her picking up her dribble with no plan helped disrupt flow in the opening minutes. Couple that with less than crisp passes, very in-your-face defense, and we were struggling. Kat was AWOL today - big difference maker at UA, not here - note the wrap back on her wrist/thumb. KB (and to a lesser degree) TJ learned some real lessons today on the defensive end. Speaking of TJ, I wonder why SR didn't start alternating her offense/defense about the 2+ minute mark left in the game. KB is not TJ in the paint, and passes into the paint that TJ can secure aren't necessarily ones for KB. As pointed out earlier, ASU got in Mik's head, and that might have been the plan. But she didn't really start that well, it just got worse as the game, and their rough ways, wore on. I don't complain about refs because it just ruins the game for me if I dwell on their ineptitude, but if we believe the announcers (who claimed CTT was just asking the refs why some fouls were fouls.......) I too got to the point where I couldn't tell which foul would be a foul and what would be a no call. The epitome of that for me was when TJ stuck her arm out and the ASU player fell down - whistle - I just wish TJ was that strong. Kudos to CTT for repeatedly (4 times in a row now) putting together game plans that have the Beavers befuddled. Good time to realize that we have some limitations, and rough-us-up game plans like ASU's have been one for a while.
I look forward to us thoroughly stomping them when they come to Corvallis, but they are a talented team and we will have our hands full. Time to go back to the drawing boards a bit.
Go Beavers!

47 points isn’t going to beat anyone in this conference. Still, a road split.

Seems an inside game needs more touches if others aren't producing? I didn’t say they weren’t good enough for a top-10 team, I simply said they aren’t starter-level players, alluding to the fact that they likely wouldn’t start on many of the other top-10 teams. As for going inside early.. Absolutely, but the guards seemed unable to get it inside. Jones was the only one who I felt played a good game. Pivec lost her clutch factor today, and Destiny’s struggles against ASU continue.

There will be a few losses as expected but will bounce back. They can learn to improve from those losses before the dance. Cant win every game.
