Then I wish Mik had hit that shot 10 seconds into the game and left them speechless for the next 39 minutes and 50 seconds of play. They (the announcers) were terrible!

At 1.4 seconds the ball was still working it's way down through the net. Somehow AZ still had 1.4 seconds left for their in-bound play. The 'somehow' is that from the moment the ball clears the net to the moment the ref raises hand and blows the whistle, the clock was frozen at 1.4 seconds. Maybe I'm ignorant and there's a rule that the clock automatically stops on scored basket.. ...it just sees odd to me.

Thanks, Donny. The announcers were indeed difficult to listen to. But they're always good announcers if they're not named Schatz.

At least Walton could have delivered another Geography or History lesson while waxing eloquently about anything that has nothing to do with Arizona, Oregon or basketball !

To refer to Walton’s nightly carousel of platitudes as “eloquent” is generous and kind. His commentary has the finesse of a weedwacker, the subtlety of a jackhammer. Virtually everything he says is laced with exaggeration, overstatement, gushing inflation and stunning irrelevance.
He knows the game, and when he played he was one of the all-time greats - but as an announcer he acts the role of an encyclopedic fool....

At least Walton could have delivered another Geography or History lesson while waxing eloquently about anything that has nothing to do with Arizona, Oregon or basketball ! Bill's geography lessons tend to be limited to where he likes to ride his bike in the vicinity of the building in which the game he's ignoring is being played. Likewise, his history lessons tend to be about either when the Grateful Dead played a concert in the building where he's ignoring the basketball game being played or a UCLA game from 46 years ago which took place in the building where the basketball game he's ignoring is being played. Want to hear his comments on the game you're currently watching? You will; you'll just have to wait 46 years.

If he comes to Gill, he can talk about the game he lost there in February 1974. He remembers every detail, since he only lost four college games.
I am not sure about Walton as an announcer, but I like most everything else about him.
