I have to agree with the group consensus and say I like coach Barnes and the players she has recruited to play for her. She is a class act and so is her team. I think I've found my 2nd most favorite team.

Great interviews for Arizona. They sound a lot like OSU's. I also liked their play. They impressed me enough to become my new second favorite pac12 team.

Looking at the stats, Maddie played 16 minutes and got one rebound and two points. It says she had no turnovers, but I seem to remember that there was at least one time when Kennedy passed her the ball inside and she lost it (maybe a jump ball called). It seems like there were other times too when the ball was passed to her inside, but to no (positive) effect. I was thinking at the time that Mitrovic would be far more effective in those situations, being an easier target and being able to receive and keep the ball higher. Being such a good passer, she likely would have had a much better opportunity to get the ball to an open shooter. I sure hope we see her on the floor soon, though it seems unlikely against ASU, given that she apparently wasn’t deemed ready for UA.

Why wasn’t brown guarding smith If we are playing Brown and Jones together she guards the more perimeter oriented of the other teams bigs. Taylor guards the low post player. |

My opinion on our last loss with ASU was we were out matched ht wise on the perimeter and inside cuz we didn’t match up with their height. This year will be different cuz of our height. They shot over us rather easily last year. If we defend the middle with our bigs we should pull away from them. But as always on the road beware of the referees. Players need to go the extra mile defensively. Positioning properly. Not leaving your feet unnessecarily. Staying in frt of your man. Hands up and playing good reads in team concept D. Back up your teammates. Beat the player your guarding to the baseline. Don’t give up the baseline!
