8 for 9 from the line tonight. 9-20 from deep
I know many here have waited for the 3 game to make a return, and did it. Shot better from behind the arc than in front of it.

They missed a lot of shots in close tonight. Taylor, Mik, Destiny, Kennedy. Defense was part of it, but not their most efficient inside game.

19 TOs why can't the Beavs take care of the ball? Arizona only had 8 turnovers. Shows if you can take care of the ball you have a chance against anyone. Having 11 more turnovers usually doesn't compute to a victory. Lucky to get out alive. The team is careless with the ball at times. Will come around to bite them eventually if they don't take care of the ball.

Keys: Pivec was double teamed regularly through out the game and both she and Slocum were regularly driving left during the first half, causing several turn overs. The beginning of the second half they started driving right with less double teams which I believe gave them 2nd half momentum and the 11 point lead. The change from man to man to zone created confusion with about 4 minutes left causing several missed shots by AZ. Rueck works wonders! Great job...... Next up, ASu.

I also watched the ASU win over the sucks. That ASU game will also be very tough. CTT is on a mission. Don't want to look ahead, but in watching Hebard - she is in the key on almost every offensive set FOREVER ! Did not watch the whole game, but second half, and I watched at least 7 - 3 second calls that went totally ignored.

It will be tough, but I don't believe Arizona State will be able stay at that high level with a second such game in such a short period of time. If Charlie can pull that off, it will be one great job of coaching.

I expect another tough physical game. They have beaten us before. They play a style and make game a grind.

Impressed with Adia Barnes - gave credit where credit was due, was encouraging and realistic - a program builder, and she is building a program. Impressed that Aari McDonald didn't attempt to flop all over on the last shot (shows good coaching, again). Arizona will remain among the class of the pack - good coaching, good fan support, good recruiting (reminds me of us!) Hopefully they will play that well against uo, because the 'ucks have shown they are vulnerable Okay - us: I think this kind of game will yield dividends for us downstream - needed a close game where every possession, shot, FT, rebound mattered Good for the freshmen bigs to realize they have to play strong - they have been having their way (esp. TJ) down low, good to encounter good opposing posts Bigs need to rebound and pass out, or hold high and let some of the crowd clear, lost a couple rebounds fooling around after securing the board initially KB continues to grow, even if it doesn't show statistically - she is going to make a "Kolbie leap" at some point Speaking of KB, she didn't get credited for her rebound basket off a TJ miss about 3 minutes in.... Mik and Aleah got reminders of how they have to *really* be mindful of doubles and pick pockets Still need some arc and perhaps less heat on those passes into TJ Neat to see that the team still has lots of room for make-able improvements 15 games/win in - bodes well for the rest of the season. Regardless of where this season ends up, we are watching one of the greatest OSU WBB teams, season and individuals (Mik) this year, what a privilege!
Go Beavers!

Classy players. They all had a little bit of a smile as they talked. Tough competitors. Glad they are growing their fan base and there is excitement about women's basketball in AZ.

I have to comment on Arizona's coach. She, among all others ( at least from a distance ), is one of the most respectful coaches in the PAC 12. She is building a great program with her recruiting and coaching style. Defensively, the intensity for the Wildcats - especially on the boards, really ramped up. In the first half, a lot of D focused on Mik, who eventually beat them with the key jumper at the end.

Haven’t seen a team so positive after a loss, especially one like that. They indeed see the bigger picture that they have a very good team, the program is on the rise and fans are backing them. They are going to continue to be a tough out.
