at home to #6 Baylor 74-58. Baylor won the 4th qtr by 13. Watched the game. For three quarters, they had a real go at each other. UO and OSU move up from 2-3 or does Baylor jump them?

Depends on this weekend. If we take care of business we should move up. Same goes for the schmucks. Oregon schools at numbers 1&2! Who would have thought that 10 years ago?

I wondered the same thing...does Baylor pass uo and osu if both sweep this week-end? I would love to just keep winning and improving. You don't win a National Title in January...

Well... on the flip side ASU/Zona aren't +16 @uconn! I'd suspect with the tight rankings if OSU and Baylor roles were reversed, we'd expect a jump into top 3 from #6. UConn prob falls maybe to #5, prob 4. But, uck and OSU sweep could... 1) ucks 2) OSU 3) Baylor (vs OkSt Sunday) 4) SCar (@ Vandy Sunday) 5) Furd (home and home w/Cal) 6) UConn

Stanford fell from 1 to 5 when Texas beat them. I don't know if Baylor jumps both Stanford and South Carolina, but, then again, I don't have a vote.

It was a night of carnage--#9, 10, 11 and 17 all lost to unranked opponents (NC State, Texas A&M, Florida St. and Maryland).

I fully expect UConn to lose to UO and SC - they just aren't equipped well vs. a some of the top teams, and don't have the depth they typically to do different things. I've very glad to see Baylor get the credit for breaking the streak.
UL hammers Miami at Miami - that win is looking less and less impressive.
Maryland ... a 4 loss team with their best win being at home over an erratic Michigan team ... I think it's time the voters realize they're not the team of their preseason hype.

Mompremier was out for Miami tonight. But yeah, that win for the Beavs isn't doing much for them at this point.

When has UConn had depth? Geno has been using 6 or 7 players at most for at least the last 4 seasons I'd say.

When has UConn had depth? Geno has been using 6 or 7 players at most for at least the last 4 seasons I'd say. But really that's what most good teams do. OSU has only 6 playing 20+ min, Maddie is just over 15 min. Pretty much the same for last year... years prior. Hard to get more than 6-7 20+ min when some are high 20s into 30s. UConn also only shows 9 players on the current cumulative stats. They have (3) players over 30 min (37, 36.8, 36)... (2) with others over 20 min (28.9, 20.9), one in the teens (15.5). Pretty similar to OSU and others except for roster size and heavier minutes for a couple more players. Curious, so looked... Ucks... (5) over 20, with SI just over 31 min. (4) others in the teens. Playing 9 pretty regularly. Furd... (3) over 20, with Williams 31.9. (8) others 12.5 to 19.9 min/game.

Only 2 remaining undefeated teams in Top 25. OSU and UCLA.

I watched uconn 4th quarter last nite . If I did not consider the teams on the floor ( expectations ), I would have said that Baylor was clearly the better team and clearly better coached. Uconn could not buy a hoop and Baylor was hitting everything and getting all the defensive rebounds. I don't think I have ever seen a number 1 play so poorly as a team.

I saw most of the game *except* the final five minutes (when Baylor took over). Based on what I saw, right now I think we're more rounded than UConn but Baylor is definitely better than us. My ballot today would be: 1) Baylor (undefeated with L.Cox), 2) UO, 3) OSU, 4) UConn.
