These are the two early signees that I'm aware of... Vidlak just won the Sierra Nevada tourney last weekend in Reno (that's a tough tourney) and was also named outstanding wrestler. I think he'll be a really good one for us at 125/133. Beat a couple highly ranked wrestlers out of California along the way. mailtribune.com/sports/preps/cascade-christians-vidlak-wins-major-tourney-sierra-nevada-reno-osaa-gobeavers-oregonstate-medfordWe also signed Kaden Kuenzi out of Silverton. Kuenzi is a 2x state champ, 1x runner up. Currently wrestling at 133, but could see him up at 141 or even 149 by the time it's all said and done. Not a great year for in-state talent IMO - a couple of the typical Oregon powerhouses are down a little bit (Crook County, Roseburg), but I'd say the top 3 HS seniors would be Cantu (Indiana), Vidlak and Kuenzi.

First I heard of Kuenzi. I am related to a few of them :-) We really need 174-184-197's

Silverton is the school that gave us Larry Bielenberg - wouldn't mind a few more Scotts Mills boys coming into the program

Crescent Valley absolutely dominated. I don't think any of those guys are even thinking OSU, but a few will big time recruits.

I hope we go after their 160, who just finished his Sophomore season by winning state in a dominant fashion.

Well one thing in our favor is they are already in the room and have been working out with Lara for a couple years now. Hopefully that helps our chances!

Not a shock Kaden got second,he was up against coach Lamar's son from C.V. Too bad OSU couldn't tap into the powerhouse program that is now Crescent Valley. I know Cantu transferrer from the Salem area and he was down to Tosu and Indiana before he transferred to C.V. I know the family a bit. There are several D-1 kids on that team including the coaches son.

Didn't the Kuenzi family have kids at McKay at one time. Used to live in Keizer, and followed the McNary teams...

I met coach Lamer at our tailgater last fall. Nice man,and a good coach. I've watched osu wrestling since the early 1970's. Hicks,Knorr,Beilenburg,Harris,Plourd, etc. I wished we had a man at the helm who could corral the best of the in-state kids. We used to be built on top state of Oregon kids. The right guy at the helm imo could do that...
Kids from McNary,Sprague,Silverton,N.Salem,Drain,Marist,Lowell,Hermiston, Tigard, S.Medford, used to dominate our roster...top kids...an opportunity is being missed by uo not having a program.
