It's really interesting to me the difference in footwork on a post pass between Brown vs. Jones. Jones always seems to have her feet in balance when the ball arrives, where Brown is tipping over. As a result, Brown usually throws it back out even though she could just go up if here feed were balanced. Brown would add a ton to her scoring if she can get that down.

74-43 thru 3Q. Goodman w/ a feed to Morris for a layup at the buzzer.

Going w/ the bench the whole 4th quarter (other than Goodman for a little bit). Tudor has hit 3-5 behind the arc this half. Nice to see Simmons w/ a couple buckets. Washington has scored 10. 87-55 at the final media TO.

Video was good got me. Nothing I'd complain about. There were a few artifacts during the pre game. I was hoping that the game wouldn't be that way and it cleared up right about tip off.
Beavs played well enough for tonight, they will have to play will tomorrow night. I doubt they will have a replay of last year, this team is a lot stronger offensively.

I really like Simmon's game. She's shoots the deep ball well enough that she has to be defended out there, yet she can take anybody off the dribble. She really finished at the rim well on her drives against NAU, making some awkward angles look easy. She's also longer than players expect, tipping balls and periodically blocking shots.
I wish she'd be more aggressively looking for shots, but really, this team doesn't have players hunting shots much in general, so hard to expect that of her. Regardless, I am increasingly convinced she could provide much more scoring if it was asked of her.

Good job spreading the minutes around - starters should have plenty in the tank for BYU...... Go Beavers!

The guy doing the video does not know what he is doing. His is too close to the action. He has to move the camera too much to keep up with the action which distorts the image. I think he is trying to get close up actions, but you need a special camera to do that. Watching this makes me want to smake him in the head. Somebody needs to square him away during half time. This is just ridiculous. The best video comes from as high in the gym that you can get. You get closer via telescopic. Totally agree. The video feed was just horrible. Hope they get somebody who knows what he's doing tonight.

I love how efficient Maddie is with her minutes. She is playing like a senior, making the most of her opportunities.

I hate to say it, but there isn't much room in that "arena" to put a camera much farther from the court. The place is about the same size as a decent Oregon 5A high school gymnasium basketball court.

Jones could have gone for a school record if she'd played 35 minutes - that was just not fair out there; nothing close to comparable on the other squad to defend her. I thought Scott did a good job calling off the dogs and resting the starters or it might have been 120 to 50, cold start shooting to the contrary.

Mik’s entry passed from the perimeter have been really good and really on target. Helps that Jones has terrific reach and great hands. Destiny appears to be our best guard at dishing off to the bigs once she gets in the lane.
Those two really know how to get the posts the ball.

Our high screen game still needs improvement - both of our freshmen bigs seem to have happy feet when setting screens, and our guards don't set them up that well, nor do they let the screen set before making their move or moves - I hold my breath waiting for a moving screen call (luckily none tonight). Prior bigs, not as light on their feet, were better at this facet of the game, but our guards could help in this department as well. Other than that - not much to complain about :-). Go Beavers! Agreed. The guards out top need to do a more consistent job of setting their defenders up to be screened. In addition, the ball often sticks at the top of the offense, whether it be a point guard awaiting a screen or against a zone. We end up using up a lot of precious shot clock without making the opposing defense have to move much. My New Year's wish for the team is to move the ball more quickly on offense. The team has very good passers in its guards, but would benefit from quicker ball movement from those guards around the perimeter to make the opposing defenses have to move and react more quickly to catch up with the ball. The ball movement will have to be quicker and crisper against Stanford and Oregon in order to create sufficient separation for our shooters.
