Through Sunday, December 8, OSU is 19th nationally in scoring per game, 17th in scoring margin, 3rd in field goal percentage, 12th in 3 point field goal percentage, 8th in assists per game, 19th in field goal percentage defense, 37th in scoring defense, 17th in rebounding margin, and 12th in blocks per game.
A pretty nice overall body of work.

You gotta look at Arizona and Washington's schedules though. Really soft. I won't say the stats are meaningless, but you have to take them with a grain of salt.

Stats for games through 12/15 have been posted. We remained 3rd in the nation in field goal percentage and 8th in assists per game. Three point field goal percentage dropped from 12th to 17th, while scoring per game fell from 19th to 23rd (the latter is a function of the former).
In other categories, we moved up - from 17th to 14th in scoring margin, 19th to 13th in opponents field goal percentage, 37th to 27th in scoring defense, 15th to 10th in rebounding margin, and 12th to 5th in blocked shots per game. Scoring defense and blocked shots per game are 2 categories where we didn't even crack the top 50 last year.
I suspect that much of our move up can be attributed to our entering the cupcake segment of our pre-conference schedule. I would expect to see improvement again next week.

Before the start of the the season I noticed the Pivec was #9 all-time among OSU players in rebounds. She has passed 3 players and now sits at #6.
Hamblin 1027 T Kostic 1001 Menken 901 D Hunter 893 Gulich 843 Pivec 828 (through 12/15)
With 21 scheduled games to go, she has a pretty good shot (if she remains healthy) at breaking Hamblin's record during the regular season. I figured Pivec's rebounds would go down this year with the new roster. But not so far.

Personally I think EFG% is more informative than just FG. It averages out the extra point you get from the 3 point shot. The Beav's are #1 in EFG in the country, and #9 in defensive EFG. Plenty good I think.
Sad thing for the season though. There is no way we will be able to keep the Steal Rate crown this year. Temple has 4.8% to the Beav's 5.7% and I'm not sure there is enough season left for them to improve past us. Sadly enough, we will NOT be the worst stealing team in the country.

Selected national stats through games of 12/29
OFFENSIVE
Scoring 25th in the nation, 22nd last week
Scoring margin 10th, 11th
FG % 4th, 3rd
3 pt. FG% 22nd, 18th
Assists/game 8th, 10th
DEFENSE
Opp. FG% 7th, 11th
Scoring def. 13th, 14th
Rebound margin 2nd, 6th
Blocks/gm 9th, 9th
The decline in scoring would seem to be a function of the steady decline in our 3 point % over the last few weeks, where we have gone from 12th to 17th to 18th to 22nd. The defensive numbers just keep getting better: opponent's fg% ( NR, 48, 19, 13, 11, 7), Scoring defense (NR, NR, 37, 27, 14, 13), Rebound margin (43, 17, 15, 10, 6, 2)
