Losing Corosdale is a heartbreak for her and for the team..... It means our bench strength takes a big hit - a very big hit..... This also creates extra minutes off the bench for Maddie and Janessa and more floor minutes for starters Kennedy and Taylor....... With Corosdale out the season just got tougher for Coach Rueck - a lot tougher.... GO BEAVS !!

yep, just saw that. It definitely hurts the depth this season, but lucky to have Maddie as a seasoned vet who can back up Kennedy. Janessa should be able to provide quality minutes as well. If there can be good news in this, it's that having Taya for 2 more years will really bolster the front court for 21-22, as well as having a lot of experience for next year, as Taylor and Kennedy are going to be counted on even more now this season.
I wonder where Jelena is on the comeback trail? I have to believe that even after healthy, it would still be a long road to get in shape to play many minutes, especially at the pace Pac12 ball is played.

Morris got a lot of good minutes this game. Kat is back. I'd love to see what AA and JM can do. But ...

Well, it probably means more court time for Morris as well. Rueck said Taya was going to play some at the 3 this year. Taya's absence probably means Kennedy will play more at the 4, maybe even some at the 3 (like she wanted to all along) and less at the 5.

I hope Morris can deliver this year....Today was not encouraging, at least to my eye...She seems slow to the ball when rebounding, and tentative receiving the ball on the pass....
I've been a fan of Morris for a long time, but I've not yet seen signs of the 2nd year breakthrough so many of us were hoping for....It's still November, so there is hope that January will bring a stronger Morris product......I sure hope so. And my guess is that Coach Rueck hopes so even more.... GO BEAVS !!

I am also a big fan of Morris, but this year she seems to be more tentative with less confidence than last year. Of course this is based on little playing time until today and my assessments are often shakey even with more data.

You can see my comments on the game thread, but I was disappointed in Trish's showing today as well. This would have been a game where you thought she may get a lot of minutes and dominate, but that wasn't the case. There were some games last year where she showed potential though, so hope is not lost. Right now though, she looks to be at least another year away. I hope that's not true, and it was just an off day for her.
I still haven't heard anyone say, is Kennedy ok after getting poked in the eye?

Is Kennedy okay after getting poked in the eye? I think he was assassinated.

Is Kennedy okay after getting poked in the eye? I don't think she got poked in the eye. She had a bandage on the side/orbit and had an ice pack on it when she came back from the locker room. I think she'll be okay.

Bright side: Both freshman 'bigs' show great promise. Maddie & Janessa provide veteran experience at the 3/4/5 position. Since Taya only played in 2 games (uncontested redshirt), Beavs will have Corosdale for 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
Was quite moved by the teammate, by teammate, by teammate deep hugs that she received after today's game.
She'll be a Senior when Jones/Brown are Juniors.
From a 'college student' perspective...this give Taya an extra year to complete a degree program (I've no 'inside' info on her academic sphere....but she is an honorable mention all-academic.).
Go Beavs.
