Is Kennedy okay after getting poked in the eye? I don't think she got poked in the eye. She had a bandage on the side/orbit and had an ice pack on it when she came back from the locker room. I think she'll be okay. She also had a black eye so may have been a double poke.

Obviously the Beavs have Maddie as a very capable, experienced backup, so that will help a lot. I'm wondering how often the Beavs may try to go small with a lineup of Kat, Aleah, Mik, and Destiny with one big. That would be pretty small overall, and may have troubles defensively, but Mik's ability to rebound, and the entire group's ability to shoot, could make it work in some stints against the right opponents.

Dangerously close to going from great depth to little depth. Just hope we can get some girls back soon ( great to get Kat - but I can’t see major minutes for her ). Now Taya is out, no chance of AA & no Jelena yet. Patricia appears very athletic, but - due to her late start in basketball, she is needing some game action to come up to speed . Watching Kennedy take a shot today , and Mikayla getting hit in the face the other day, only serves to remind us how little margin for error that we have over this season. Go Beavers- please stay healthy and don’t come back until you are ‘good to go’ again. Maybe Taya came back too soon ?.

My hopes and dreams of a finals are a little dim now. Guess I'll have to switch to the FF.
Get well Taya so we can have a chance to cheer for you again.

So Baseballllls head was successfully removed from his ass? It’s a miracle. You must be of the GAG ilk, no one sober of any intellect makes posts of that caliber. No clue, no connection, no humor, no intelligence... keep on keeping on.

Our injury luck has run out apparently. I'm curious where we had any luck in the first place? We already have 2 players sidelined for health reasons, and a 3rd just back from a major injury. I'm really surprised the injury was season season-ending. I'm wondering if it was possible she could come back late in the season, but just clearly better to redshirt at this point? I really hope it's not so severe that it's a +4mo recovery from the get-go.

I'd say the injury luck ran out last year w/ Tudor and Thropay unavailable for most of conference play, and Aquino unable to play all year. Luck hasn't improved this season.

As common as season-ending injuries are in WBB, I believe this was just Rueck's second player to endure one in his 10 years, Kat being his first. The seasons before 18-19 (0 season ending in 8 years) we had some pretty damn good luck. The past two years (2 in 2 years) not so much.

I see - agreed, we've had a good run on injuries before last year. Certainly didn't lose any players of this caliber that I recall, and would have been much more devastating in most years as well.

I am hoping someone creates one of those GIANT Get Well cards for Taya like someone did for Kat.

We just have to work more with Morris Maddie is to undersized. Morris presence is at this time is needed. Wished they gave her minutes last year and this year. This to payback a bit. Defensively if she can keep from fouling and learn to pass is basic stuff that need developing? Or a combination like her and Maddie. Teams can exploit Maddie cuz she’s a 3/4 if she is post absolutely need a lot now from morris. One little mans opinion!

Players earn their playing team in practice. If Trisha shows her ability in practice to help the team, then I am sure the coaches will play her the appropriate number of minutes in games to give the Beavs the best chance to win. We all would like to see the players who don't play as much earn their minutes and then demonstrate in games that those minutes are appropriate. I have seen the team practice. Based upon the relative strengths/weaknesses of the players in the time that I have seen them on the practice court and at Gill, I think that the coaches have a very good idea of which players put the team in the best position to be successful. The deeper reserves receive playing time typically when the outcome is decided. Those opportunities (as well as every practice opportunity) are their chances to show the coaching staff that they belong on the court more frequently. I would love to see Morris become a dominant player. She has a lot of supporters who hope to see her improve to the point that she is a defensive force in the middle for the Beavers.
