Yes, Taya was rusty. She usually is a very smart passer.
What I particularly noticed was Slocums play. For most of the game she focused on promoting ball movement and only took shots within the context of game flow. It was only after game fow was established and everyone was involved offensively did she call her own number at in the later stages of the game. That is how a point is supposed to play. She displayed a Big turnaround since the season. Also her passing into the posts was really good. They were soft arching lobs that went over the defenders and were easy to catch. She obvious worked on that in the offseason. It certainly appears that she corrected two aspects of her game that were less than stellar.
Kat was trying a bit too hard to hit that first three after she missed her first attempt, but she should be fine after she hits that first one. Her lateral movement looked ok on defense which was the real concern. Simmons is a baller. She hustles, gets to the right spots and makes smart plays. And she certainly hit her outside shots. Brown also appears to be a smart player with respect to passing to the right players at the right time. Her quick out pass to the corner showed real BB awareness.
Other players also shined but they were mostly already mentioned by other posters. I really wanted to give Slocum props for the things I was critical of last season.

Regarding Simmons, I love the way she elevates to snag rebounds. The #1 thing for her to work on is her passing...decision making and putting a bit more force behind them.
