I was at the Cake Concert at McMenamins Edgefield Ampitheatre. I watched the first quarter flawlessly while rocking out (and getting rained on) during the end of the concert (Edgefield has a strict 10pm cut off for concerts). I watched the second quarter flawlessly while waiting half an hour to get out of the parking lot. I watched the second half (unfortunately) flawlessly from the AirBnB. All on my Samsung Note8 All using data (no wifi) using Cricket (which is on the AT&T network) I had to restart the FB app twice, other than that the video quality was better than most other Beaver football viewing experiences (I am pretty sure FS1 is broadcast in Braille ), I had it muted the whole game so I have no idea how good the broadcasters were, I was quite impressed with the number of camera angles and replays. I wasn't keeping track, but the most viewers at any given time I saw was 30K. Which is a fairly trustworthy number. I would take any viewership numbers from a cable channel with a metric ton of salt. I was impressed with 30k viewers for a game that didn't start until 9pm pst. I would be pleased as punch if EVERY Beaver game was broadcast that way.

Horribly. made facebook account, couldn't find the legit live stream anywhere, deleted facebook account. f%#* them. Don't ban me, deal leader.... but... come on! If you can log on to this forum (let alone own it, set it up, moderate it, etc.) then you could have found the live stream. On this very forum that you own multiple people posted a host of links, both direct and indirect. It was on the main feed of Facebook.com/Beaverfootball, all you had to do was go there and it was instantly in your eyeballs (after the first half BeaverFootball had posted a couple highlights so you may have had to scroll down a whole 4 status updates...) It was CERTAINLY easier to find than a majority of the cable channels we have been on in the past few years... a literal quote from a couple years ago when I was trying to coach my dad overy the phone, "What is the channel number again? I didn't know they could have a fourth digit!"

Hmm, that would be strange, seems like the whole point of buying the rights and broadcasting it would be to increase traffic and accounts, why block access to something you intended to be free? Did anyone try accessing it with no account, like was suggested should work?

So far getting about the percentage I expected reflected in various comments made during and after the game in various sites. It is more interesting that listening to the Dish subscribers complain about Pac-12 network I could have downloaded the Android app, but don't want that app for a variety of reasons, and also based on my hotel wifi performance, there would have been streaming problems.

I don't Face. I refuse to do business with a thief and certainly won't do business with someone who plays fast and loose with my personal data.

If you don't do business with Facebook, I'm not quite not sure how Facebook could play fast and loose with your personal data, since they don't have access to it because you're not on their site.

On vacation as well. Only had my iPhone with me and I'll be damned if I download that evil app. Tried to watch through my account using Safari but Facebook told me that I had to watch the game through the app. Instead, played board games with my Canadian friends.
Sure hope it isn't a common occurrence.

If I may pry.... what device are you accessing this thread on? Unless you have worked fairly hard (built your own white hat OpenBSD box with customized encryption and multiple layers of VPNs and server bouncing perhaps?) then facebook is the least of your worries. Heaven forbid you are on any apple device.... Certainly zukerbutt and crew were the tip of the data mining sword and thus got all the backlash, but we are all constantly be mined, right now, as we speak (type) whether we like it or not, whether we have facebook or not. The only way to get away from that is to not have any device at all (not just internet). So go Amish, basically. If it security, as in personal data to access or create financial accounts taht you are worried about, then for the vast majority of people the biggest threat is whatever you use for email. Not the emial providor or client, but the actual email coming to you.

I am just wondering too, the video stream peaked out at around 25,000? Would like to see normal tv ratings for a televised Beaver game, especially one expected to be competitive.
Found that viewership for Oregon State vs USC was 420,000 last season, and the Civil War drew 940,000.

My first post in this thread was just the facts. Now I'll share my opinions...
I don't want to watch any football game on my phone, let alone one I really care about.
I don't have nor do I want to have a modern tablet.
I have satellite TV because it's more reliable than my internet at home. I subscribe to channels that give me the best chance of watching the Beaver football games.
I watch football games on my DVR when I can. Even if I've seen it live. I WANT the games on my DVR.
My laptop at home is not a reliable streaming option.
For people who only knew that the game was "on Facebook", going to Facebook and using their search led you to a pirated/scammer feed.
As of right now, I would not be in favor of "televised" Beaver games being done via Facebook. I don't have the proper technology at home and the game does not end up on my DVR (and I'm 99.9999% sure will not be available even as a "Pac-12 in 60" replay).

Bingo, except the satellite and unreliable streaming at home.

Couldn't watch, as I don't do the facebook thing. Signed up, still wouldn't let me watch. The game may have been "out there," but it was inaccessible to many, myself included.
Still, listening to Parker I felt like I wasn't missing anything, so it feels like no net loss...
